Overnight commuter parking now available in Folk Hall parking lot
Lot 47, located on Exchange Street at Folk Hall, has now been designated as an overnight commuter parking lot. An overnight parking endorsement sticker must be affixed to a valid commuter parking permit for authorized overnight parking. This change has been made to provide a close alternative for commuters who were parking in the now-closed portion of the Gallucci Hall parking lot (Lot 46). Snow Route Only: Saturday, January 19, 2019.

Due to significant snowfall expected on Saturday, January 19, 2019, the Roo Express Snow Route will run from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., unless road conditions worsen. The Weekend and Downtown Routes will be cancelled on January 19, 2019. Check the announcements page on DoubleMap https://akron.doublemap.com/map/ for the most up to date information. The Roo Express Weekend route is expected to resume normal operations on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

The Snow Route will make stops at the following locations:
1. Across from Quaker Square on Mill Street
2. At the corner of Exchange and Main Street
3. At the RKP Metro RTA Transit Center off Broadway St.
4. At The Depot Apts.
5. The Student Union
6. In front of Starbucks on Exchange St.

Parking updates through December 10th

• Lot 28, at E.J. Thomas Hall, will be closed at 12:00 PM, on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, due to The Sound of Music. All vehicles that are in Lot 28 before it closes must vacate the posted area by 4:00 PM that same day. Alternate parking is available in Lot 26, Lot 29, and Lot 45.
Lot 2, at Rhodes Arena, will be closed at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 4, through the conclusion of the women’s home basketball game vs. St. Bonaventure, which begins at 10:30 a.m. the next day, Dec. 5. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 1, Lot 9 and Lot 10.
• Lot 57, right outside the J.A.R. Arena, will be closed on Wednesday, December 5, 2018. Alternate parking is available in Lot 6, Lot 8, and Lot 10.

• Lot 28, at E.J. Thomas Hall, will be closed at 12:00 PM, on Friday, December 7, 2018, due to Akron’s Symphony- Home for the Holidays. All vehicles that are in Lot 28 before it closes must vacate the posted area by 4:00 PM that same day. Alternate parking is available in Lot 26, Lot 29, and Lot 45.

All vehicles must vacate the posted area by 9:00 PM, on Thursday, November 15, 2018, or face towing at owners' expense. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 1, Lot 9, and Lot 10.
• Lot 57, right outside the J.A.R. Arena, will be closed on Friday, November 16, 2018. Alternate parking is available in Lot 6, Lot 8, and Lot 10.

Roo Express Shuttle Service Thanksgiving Schedule

• The Roo Express shuttles will be operating normal weekday routes until 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, 11/21/18
• Thursday, 11/22/18 – No Roo Express service
• Friday, 11/23/18 – Rob’s holiday route only from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Saturday, 11/24/18 – Rob’s holiday route only from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• Sunday, 11/25/18 – Rob’s holiday route only from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
• The Roo Express operations will return to the posted fall 2018 schedule Monday, 11/26/18.

Even though campus dining operations will not be open for the Thanksgiving break, we will run our Roo Express Holiday route (which makes stops downtown and along Exchange Street). This will give students options to eat off campus.

Route runs approximately every 12 minutes. Check DoubleMap for exact location of the buses.

Parking and Transportation Services to collect food in lieu of fines

Parking and Transportation Services will run a Food for Fines program from November 1st through November 15th to benefit UA’s Campus Cupboard.

Faculty, staff, and students with fines may bring five or more non-perishable food items and receive one minor citation dismissal (limit one dismissal per person for violations #1-5 only). Item must be single serving food products, and cannot be individually wrapped snack items. Items must be brought into the office for credit – mailed items will not be accepted. Proper citation, vehicle information and University ID must accompany all food items.

Suggested items include: canned veggies or fruit, peanut butter, pouches or cans of tuna. All collected items will be used to stock the Campus Cupboard. Any items that cannot be stored in the Campus Cupboard will be donated to the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank.

All vehicles must vacate the posted area by 9:00 PM, on Monday, November 5, 2018, or face towing at owners' expense. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 1, Lot 9, and Lot 10.
• Lot 8, by the Ocasek Natatorium, will be closed beginning at 3:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, through the conclusion of the men’s home basketball game vs. Cedarville. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 1, Lot 9, and Lot 10.
• Lot 18, right outside the Student Union, will have limited parking on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. Alternate parking is available in Lot 34, Lot 36, and Lot 39.
• Lot 29, by Olsen Research, will be closed on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, due to bus parking needed for Collage 2018, located at E.J. Thomas Hall. All vehicles must vacate the posted area by 11:00 PM, on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, or face towing at owners' expense. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 26, Lot 40, and Lot 45.
• Lot 34, at the Computer Center, will be partially reserved on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Alternate parking will be available in Lot 36, Lot 39, and Lot 43.
• Lot 6, on Union St., will be partially reserved on Thursday, November 8, 2018. Alternate parking is available in Lot 8, Lot 9, and Lot 10.
• Lot 28, at E.J. Thomas Hall, will be closed at 12:00 PM, on Thursday, November 8, 2018, due to Simon & Garfunkel. All vehicles that are in Lot 28 before it closes must vacate the posted area by 4:00 PM that same day. Alternate parking is available in Lot 26, Lot 29, and Lot 45.
