NU Cotton finds a blue ocean in ‘sustainable’ textiles
In recent years, the quality and added value of Taiwan's textiles have been greatly improved, which has helped to enhance the international image of Taiwan's products. Gradually increasing international market segmentation has resulted in the inclusion of products from a broad cross-section of countries, particularly from Southeast Asia and mainland China. The resultant red ocean market has been a wake-up call to the industry in Taiwan. Environment-friendly value added processing has come to be viewed as the way to the future and the gateway to a blue ocean of new opportunity.
Nu Cotton is a leading participant in this movement. The company has 35,000 square feet of storage space. There are multiple hydraulic balers, forklift fixtures, and particular inspection systems in the factory where operations are electronically controlled (EPC).
By leveraging cutting edge equipment, instituting innovative internal controls, and external supply chain management initiatives to ensure stable quality so that the company maintains its existing strong relationships with domestic and international customers as well as contracting with new ones. Working within a large network of domestic and foreign textile factories, Nu Cotton is able to access a wide variety of sustainable raw materials.
