วันนี้ลองมาดูคำศัพท์ที่เป็นคำสำนวนกันนะคะ
ถ้าเพื่อน ๆ เห็นคำว่า 'BALL AND CHAIN' ในประโยค นั่นไม่ได้หมายความว่าประธานกำลังถือลูกบอลแล้วก็โซ่อยู่นะคะ แต่เป็นสำนวนเปรียบเทียบค่ะ

'BALL & CHAIN' แปลว่า ภาระที่หน่วงเหนี่ยวเราอยู่ ภาระที่เราทิ้งไปทำอย่างอื่นไม่ได้นั่นเอง เช่น ลูกที่ยังเล็กอยู่ งานที่น่าเบื่อหน่ายแต่ก็ต้องจำใจทำ ภรรยาที่คอยจู้จี้และเป็นภาระ เป็นต้น

When I was young, I always complaint about the "Special Programs" on TV as I would rather wath cartoon than just those serious stuff that adults had created.

I am an adult now, I watch (sometimes only see or hear as I am too busy) "Special Programs" about Thai ceremonies with cheeks up. I can certainly say that I am pround to be Thai..I love the ceremonies like the one we have today "THAILAND'S ROYAL BARGE PROCESSION"

HAPPY HALLOWEEN! According to the ancient Celtic people, on this night the wall that seperates the worlds of the living and the dead is very thin. In THAILAND we celebrate a similar holiday called PHI TA KHOAN, or "Ghost Follow People", where people dressed as spirits parade through the town to invite the spirits to join in the festivities!

There are many festivals for Wan Awk Pansa and if you have heard of Phayanark (the dragon under Mekong river), yes he will come and shoot fires as for the signs to welcome the Lord Buddha.

วันนี้เบญจ์อยากมา share คำศัพท์แปลกคำหนึ่งให้เพื่อน ๆ ได้รู้เพื่อประดับคลังคำศัพท์กันค่ะ พอดีได้แปลเอกสารกฎหมายก็เลยเจอคำว่า

"kangaroo court"

Kangaroo court หมายถึง ศาลเถื่อนหรือศาลกำมะลอนั่นเองค่ะ เป็นศาลที่ละเลยหรือบิดเบือนหลักการทางกฎหมายและความยุติธรรม

ถ้ามีโอกาศเพื่อน ๆ ก็ลองใช้ดูนะคะ
