I know I said the last posting was the last - but we have the opportunity to pay back Sam (Mr tuk-tuk!) for all the amazing work he did for us. If all of the participating students could visit tripadvisor and search for Phnom Penh Tuk-Tuk, you will see Sam at about #3. It would be wonderful if we can boost him up to #1. I know some of you have already written reviews - which have helped him - but if the others could really try hard to get this done it would be one more positive contribution we could make in relation to the tour.
For the parents who may not know, Sam did a very thorough and reliable job arranging and leading all the tuk-tuks we used while in Phnom Penh. He is genuinely a favourite (well earned) with the students.
We can tell you just one story that would justify going to the trouble of giving Sam an excellent review. As you would all know by now, we had occasion to get one of the girls to hospital immediately while we were working at C14. We followed the Embassy suggested procedure and called for an ambulance from one - then another - expat medical clinic. Sam, on his own initiative, went and got an A/C taxi to the front of the centre. When it was obvious that the an ambulance would not be arriving in less than 45 minutes, we used the taxi and got her to the emergency clinic in 10 minutes flat. This was only achieved because Sam had gone and fetched the taxi early, and because he went in the taxi to make sure it took the best route - and then jumped out of the taxi at every intersection and blocked the traffic (no mean feat in Phnom Penh) so it was not delayed!!
So let's make one more positive contribution and visit tripadvisor and see if we can't make Sam #1 on the list.
