The most popular platform for work in Poland. Uber, at one time, spent a huge amount on the purchase of an artificial intelligence machine, which allows you to distribute orders more competently, reduce the waiting time for an order, pick up orders along the way with a smaller distance to the customer, and so on. According to UBER, this allows for 20% more orders to be made on the platform compared to mathematical algorithms.
What does this mean in practice for the driver:
Positive
+ More orders
+ Shorter distance to travel to the client
+ Higher profitability in contrast to other platforms, provided the same tariffs
+ Time in traffic is calculated by artificial intelligence, and it is much better than other applications (there is an opinion that in traffic it is necessary to work only for UBER)
+ With huge demand, Uber can significantly inflate the fare (in our opinion, it considers the route to bypass traffic jams)
+ The most convenient application among competitors
+ Foreigners know UBER and this is an additional number of orders
+ Reimburses unpaid customer orders in most cases
+ Pays for the soiled salon by the client
Minuses
- Deceives drivers with an application card with multipliers. You can be in the epicenter of increased demand and receive an order without a multiplier
- The most popular platform and there are always a lot of drivers, which lowers revenue
- With a small number of orders, it starts sorting into permanent and temporary drivers (some with orders, and others with leftovers)
- Ordering on the way home does not work adequately if there is increased demand
- UBER blocking is much more difficult to get around than on other applications
P/S: the disadvantages are not significant and you need to understand that this is the best application
Recommendations for work
* Try to keep the activity higher (orders accepted/missed), the quality and quantity of orders depends on it when the demand for Uber services decreases. The lower bar does not exist in this application. Everything is decided by the settings of artificial intelligence. If there are not enough orders, then the drivers with the lowest activity rating are temporarily blocked by Uber and this level floats. In order to avoid a ban, it is necessary to show an increase in the dynamics of activity. Skip orders less than before
• Try to keep the rating at least 4.85 (if your car is in the comfort category, you will receive more expensive orders)
• Put a protective partition on the car for Uberzip (protect) orders. When there is increased demand, I recommend turning off these orders in the application, otherwise the feeds will be very large, and you will skip them and lower your activity rating. But when the demand is reduced, it will give you about +15% to orders.
* VAN (car for 7 seats) – the best choice of cars to work in UBER. High tariffs are not all bonuses (there are a lot of such orders on Friday and Saturday, and not very much on other days), you will get a huge priority for any orders, since there are not many such cars, and Uber wants to keep them on the line longer and constantly gives such drivers orders! If VAN has stopped, then others are completely bad
• Do not look for orders on the move (except when the refrigerator is lit red or you were thrown into a remote village at night)
• If a person is dropped off in a dead-end street, turn around and drive 30 meters to the exit direction. What for? Artificial intelligence calculates the time from you to the passenger, and he will take a nice couple of minutes to the theoretical turn and perhaps give your order to another, as he will consider your travel time to be long. There are a lot of settings in Uber and this is only one factor out of many. You will simply increase the chance of getting an order faster.
• Do not cancel accepted orders often (except for those that the passenger did not leave)! Uber greatly dampens your rating in such cases. And sometimes it blocks. Why is it possible to skip a lot (I have 25% accepted and this is bad) but it is not desirable, and it is dangerous to cancel? Have you seen orders with a 15-20km drive? Drivers often swear that Uber has gone crazy... and do you know where they come from? When you take an order without a multiplier or with minimal multipliers, and then you realize that now there is maximum demand and you can get an order with a higher coefficient and cancel. But the Uber application for clients does not show the client that you refused and is trying to change his driver. But time has passed, the whole city is on fire, and the order is not profitable and no one wants to take it ... and such a failure occurs. You get an unprofitable order with a 15km drive. From the customer's point of view, Uber's position is correct. That's why the American company punishes heavily for cancellations. This creates an additional burden on the platform and reputational losses.
• When there is a big demand, sort through orders and choose multipliers, but within reasonable limits. Watch out when the multiplier goes out and try not to miss orders to get new ones. Example on weekdays at 9 am, it seems like the city is burning, but it is already fading ... take everything in a row otherwise the next order may not give or will give worse

• If there is an incomprehensible situation with a passenger and you are guilty or not, but there are suspicions that he is dissatisfied with you. Write to Uber support first. You will protect yourself. Two consecutive warnings for half a year of the same type and lifetime blocking. There are also cases from the first time. According to the unspoken rules, whoever first contacted support, you or the passenger, is right. Uber will not think long and will take the side of the applicant. Except for the passenger and you, no one will give evidence to me. They are not even interested in video recording (my experience with warning)
* By cash: if the customer has not paid for the order this week and Uber has already made compensation to you, then I would not take an order with cash for long distances ... there is a chance that the person will not pay, and there will be no compensation. There is one feature: if we say that a person did not accidentally change a card with cash in the application and promised to pay the next driver and you are sure to give the passenger 5 stars (although he hid from you in the bushes), then compensation will be very likely
* Long orders over 35 minutes. There is a chance to make good money and be sure to watch the index. Maybe 10km through traffic jams or maybe to another city for 400km and after the 20th km the tariff increases steeply 3 +PLN per km. But if the city is burning with multipliers and, according to your assumptions, it will burn for a long time, and the order will spit you out of the city into a zone without orders and multipliers, then it makes sense to skip such an order. Plus, I strongly recommend not taking orders for cash to other cities. 90% fraud and you will not be paid and there will be no compensation!
* Can be used with other applications without any problems. Take an order where it is profitable or faster. There is a setting that divides drivers into priority and others, but it is not very rigid.
• If the passenger has soiled the interior of the car, then you can get decent compensation through the support service. But if you do the course in the next three hours, you may be refused compensation. This means that everything is fine and you were able to continue working and they will not give you money. And often the driver himself quickly fixes the problem…I advise you to finalize it on another application before resolving the dispute. Do not forget to take three photos of the damage and you can add)
• Uber does not pay the driver for mechanical damage
• At times when shops and cafes are closed, it is better to move to residential areas to receive an order.
This is our experience and observations. We found similar material only from managers who have no idea about our work and does not correspond to reality. We really hope that the information will be useful, practical and will allow you to use your time more efficiently and not get into bad situations! For me, Bolt is the fastest growing online transport company in Poland. Three years ago, it was impossible to imagine work on one Bolt application. It was additional earnings with high profitability (at the start, Bolt paid extra to both drivers and users, gaining an audience of fans). There were few orders, but from the financial point of view, they were very interesting. But it was not possible to close the daily rate ... uber exceeded many times, both in popularity and the number of orders. Who remembers, 3 years ago, uber did not even give bonuses and personally I thought that the item in the "promo" menu was worth a tick.
But the tipping point came with the onset of Covid.
Bolt rebuilt very quickly and introduced a new service: “Protect” - trips with a partition in the cabin. While it was possible to earn a maximum of 50-200 zlotys per day for a maximum of uber, Bolt made it possible to easily make 300 zlotys, thanks to a new service. This was all accompanied by PR in the news: do not go by public transport, but order “Protect”. But Uber slowed down and lost its dominance in the market…. Bolt and Uber are now competing for the Polish transportation market. FreeNow steps on their heels.
What does this mean in practice for the driver:
pros
+ A huge number of orders
+ More often than other platforms, the multiplier gives, and it is honest - where it burns and you get it (there are exceptions)
+ The app itself for work is inferior to Uber, but good enough
+ The huge growth in the popularity of the application allows you to find orders outside the city
+ A large number of bonuses (they are not always fair and you need to understand them)
+ The "passing order home" function works adequately
+ An arithmetic program and is easy to calculate. If you are closer to the client, then the order is yours (with small nuances. We will write down below)
+ You can set the radius of acceptance of orders and all orders outside this radius will not affect your activity (I recommend 2 km)
+ You can skip orders for cash without losing activity. Very relevant for this applique and clientele
Minuses
- With the same fare as Uber, it counts the track lower
- In traffic jams, a terrible miscalculation ... ((((
- With a small number of orders, it begins to sort into permanent and temporary drivers and does it tough.
- Penny compensates for non-cash payment of the passenger
- Does not always compensate for the cancellation of the order (you drove 5 km to the client, and he canceled when there were 500 m left ... or waited 5 minutes and made a cancellation, since the client did not come out)
- compensates with a huge creak for the client's soiled salon, and that does not always require a check and three photos…. If Uber gives 300zl, then Bolt maximum 100zl
- you cannot skip orders within the radius that you have set. If the activity is less than 80%, you can get a temporary block
- Clients are the poorest, looking for the cheapest taxi ... with all that it implies: no tea, not a lot of cash payments, passenger behavior ....
- Awful average scores and frequent blockages even by experienced drivers for this reason.
P / S: the application is controversial and inferior to Uber, but bonuses decide a lot (700zl / 7 weeks for new drivers, etc ...) and a huge number of orders. Confused by uber if you have no orders.
• Try to keep activity above 96% (accepted / missed orders), the quality and quantity of orders depends on this when the demand for Bolt services decreases. If the activity drops below 80%, blocking is possible. If there are not enough orders, then the drivers with the minimum activity rating are not supported by the word at all - you will not see orders.
• Try to keep the rating at least 4.85 (if your car is included in the comfort category, you will receive more expensive orders). The higher the score, the more likely it is to receive long orders, but there is a moment ... a score of 5 and an activity of 100 gives many orders, but gives everything and many small ones. The application considers you a tone driver and tries to keep you from stopping and gives you everything ...
• Place a protective partition on the machine for orders (protect). When there is an increased demand, I recommend disabling these orders in the application, otherwise the feeds will be very large, and you will skip them and lower your activity rating. But when the demand is low, it will give you about + 15% to orders. Similar to uber
• It makes sense to look for orders in motion. Application arithmetic and the one who is closer to take the order.
• As soon as you turn on the application - you are not always in activity mode. The app works, but orders are not received. Let's say the multiplier is on, but you turned off the application and moved to the multiplier zone and nothing !!!!!! Doesn't give orders ... You need to activate yourself) - try to order and cancel yourself. This manipulation allows you to enter the order search mode.
• Make a series of orders in a row. Bolt employs those who take orders in a row. The series is interrupted: if you missed the order, if you were given a bad rating (you do not see this and after a while you will understand), and sometimes at the time of updating the rating, the series is reset to zero. It was 4.85, but now it is 5.00 and a pause may occur. Paradox.
• For the above described reason, I do not recommend mixing the work of Bolt with other applications. There are a lot of complaints from drivers working for Uber who switched to Bolt ... he doesn't give orders, but if he gives bad ones or throws them out in a bad place without orders. At the same time, the guys mix applications, which does not allow starting a series of orders, skip orders by choosing them, etc. Completely different philosophy of work. Many guys ride only Bolt, knowing all these patterns and making an excellent box office.
• Life hack: you accepted a very bad order in the multiplier zone ... it happens, but it is not advisable to lower the activity.
What to do?
- We confirm the entrance to the client (but do not go to him)
- We choose to cancel the order due to "The client asked for it himself"

in rare cases I use and no more than 2 times a day
• Another feature, If you make a series and receive good orders, and then an order arrives, and you have not finished the first one, then there will already be a random and a high probability that it is short. Consider this point.
• If a passenger gets dirty inside the car, you can get compensation through the support service. Don't forget to take three photos of the damage. And if you used a car wash, then you need a check (not always)
• Bolt does not pay the driver for mechanical damage
• Another Lifehack at Airports: the closer you are to it, the more chances you have to catch the order. Sometimes it makes sense to pay for parking on Modlin (Warszawa) 10zl and get priority for yourself. But do not forget to look at the arrival schedule)
We really hope this information will help new drivers. The information is based on our experience and we try to share with you. These are practical tips that do not give 100% results, but will help increase the profitability of your work.
