For me, Bolt is the fastest growing online transport company in Poland. Three years ago, it was impossible to imagine work on one Bolt application. It was additional earnings with high profitability (at the start, Bolt paid extra to both drivers and users, gaining an audience of fans). There were few orders, but from the financial point of view, they were very interesting. But it was not possible to close the daily rate ... uber exceeded many times, both in popularity and the number of orders. Who remembers, 3 years ago, uber did not even give bonuses and personally I thought that the item in the "promo" menu was worth a tick.
But the tipping point came with the onset of Covid.
Bolt rebuilt very quickly and introduced a new service: “Protect” - trips with a partition in the cabin. While it was possible to earn a maximum of 50-200 zlotys per day for a maximum of uber, Bolt made it possible to easily make 300 zlotys, thanks to a new service. This was all accompanied by PR in the news: do not go by public transport, but order “Protect”. But Uber slowed down and lost its dominance in the market…. Bolt and Uber are now competing for the Polish transportation market. FreeNow steps on their heels.
What does this mean in practice for the driver:
pros
+ A huge number of orders
+ More often than other platforms, the multiplier gives, and it is honest - where it burns and you get it (there are exceptions)
+ The app itself for work is inferior to Uber, but good enough
+ The huge growth in the popularity of the application allows you to find orders outside the city
+ A large number of bonuses (they are not always fair and you need to understand them)
+ The "passing order home" function works adequately
+ An arithmetic program and is easy to calculate. If you are closer to the client, then the order is yours (with small nuances. We will write down below)
+ You can set the radius of acceptance of orders and all orders outside this radius will not affect your activity (I recommend 2 km)
+ You can skip orders for cash without losing activity. Very relevant for this applique and clientele
Minuses
- With the same fare as Uber, it counts the track lower
- In traffic jams, a terrible miscalculation ... ((((
- With a small number of orders, it begins to sort into permanent and temporary drivers and does it tough.
- Penny compensates for non-cash payment of the passenger
- Does not always compensate for the cancellation of the order (you drove 5 km to the client, and he canceled when there were 500 m left ... or waited 5 minutes and made a cancellation, since the client did not come out)
- compensates with a huge creak for the client's soiled salon, and that does not always require a check and three photos…. If Uber gives 300zl, then Bolt maximum 100zl
- you cannot skip orders within the radius that you have set. If the activity is less than 80%, you can get a temporary block
- Clients are the poorest, looking for the cheapest taxi ... with all that it implies: no tea, not a lot of cash payments, passenger behavior ....
- Awful average scores and frequent blockages even by experienced drivers for this reason.
P / S: the application is controversial and inferior to Uber, but bonuses decide a lot (700zl / 7 weeks for new drivers, etc ...) and a huge number of orders. Confused by uber if you have no orders.
• Try to keep activity above 96% (accepted / missed orders), the quality and quantity of orders depends on this when the demand for Bolt services decreases. If the activity drops below 80%, blocking is possible. If there are not enough orders, then the drivers with the minimum activity rating are not supported by the word at all - you will not see orders.
• Try to keep the rating at least 4.85 (if your car is included in the comfort category, you will receive more expensive orders). The higher the score, the more likely it is to receive long orders, but there is a moment ... a score of 5 and an activity of 100 gives many orders, but gives everything and many small ones. The application considers you a tone driver and tries to keep you from stopping and gives you everything ...
• Place a protective partition on the machine for orders (protect). When there is an increased demand, I recommend disabling these orders in the application, otherwise the feeds will be very large, and you will skip them and lower your activity rating. But when the demand is low, it will give you about + 15% to orders. Similar to uber
• It makes sense to look for orders in motion. Application arithmetic and the one who is closer to take the order.
• As soon as you turn on the application - you are not always in activity mode. The app works, but orders are not received. Let's say the multiplier is on, but you turned off the application and moved to the multiplier zone and nothing !!!!!! Doesn't give orders ... You need to activate yourself) - try to order and cancel yourself. This manipulation allows you to enter the order search mode.
• Make a series of orders in a row. Bolt employs those who take orders in a row. The series is interrupted: if you missed the order, if you were given a bad rating (you do not see this and after a while you will understand), and sometimes at the time of updating the rating, the series is reset to zero. It was 4.85, but now it is 5.00 and a pause may occur. Paradox.
• For the above described reason, I do not recommend mixing the work of Bolt with other applications. There are a lot of complaints from drivers working for Uber who switched to Bolt ... he doesn't give orders, but if he gives bad ones or throws them out in a bad place without orders. At the same time, the guys mix applications, which does not allow starting a series of orders, skip orders by choosing them, etc. Completely different philosophy of work. Many guys ride only Bolt, knowing all these patterns and making an excellent box office.
• Life hack: you accepted a very bad order in the multiplier zone ... it happens, but it is not advisable to lower the activity.
What to do?
- We confirm the entrance to the client (but do not go to him)
- We choose to cancel the order due to "The client asked for it himself"

• Another feature, If you make a series and receive good orders, and then an order arrives, and you have not finished the first one, then there will already be a random and a high probability that it is short. Consider this point.
• If a passenger gets dirty inside the car, you can get compensation through the support service. Don't forget to take three photos of the damage. And if you used a car wash, then you need a check (not always)
• Bolt does not pay the driver for mechanical damage
• Another Lifehack at Airports: the closer you are to it, the more chances you have to catch the order. Sometimes it makes sense to pay for parking on Modlin (Warszawa) 10zl and get priority for yourself. But do not forget to look at the arrival schedule)
