‘IT IS NOT AUTOMATIC THAT WE SHARE THE VIEWS’

After receiving backlash for the joint press conference, vice presidential candidate and Senate President Tito Sotto on Monday clarified he and his running mate Senator Panfilo Lacson agreed to join forces with the other candidates to guard the May 2022 elections from any sabotage.

Sotto stressed that he and Lacson do not automatically share the views of other candidates outside that matter.

“When Sen. Panfilo Lacson and I signed a joint statement with other presidential and vice-presidential candidates, it was to uphold the sovereignty of the Filipino voters as they choose our new leaders on May 9,” he said.

Over the weekend, netizens poked fun at the withdrawal call made by presidential bet and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to his fellow candidate Vice President Leni Robredo during the press conference held jointly by Moreno, Lacson, and Norberto Gonzales.
