Namibian police spokesperson Chief Inspector Elifas Kuwinga, confirmed that a Swiss tourist, Alois Ottiger (83), has been missing in the Sossusvlei area since Sunday. A massive search for him has been launched with the Namibian police helicopter and members deployed, as well as gyrocopters, drones, dogs and a search party of more than 50 people. Ottiger went for a walk at the Desert Hills Lodge in the Sossusvlei area on Sunday and didn't return. He was last seen at around 18:00.
