REAM at BEM-MEIS 2026 | Collaboration with Intent

The Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM) was honoured to participate in the BEM Stakeholders Engagement Programme – BEM-MEIS 2026, hosted by the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM), which brought together 36 engineering institutions and societies from across the country.

In line with the theme “Collaboration with Intent”, the programme provided a valuable platform for dialogue, knowledge sharing and strategic collaboration in shaping the future of Malaysia’s engineering profession.

REAM was represented by REAM Council Member, Dr. Azwan Ezzany bin Azmi, underscoring REAM’s continued commitment to working closely with regulators, professional bodies and industry stakeholders in advancing the road and transport infrastructure sector.

During the programme, REAM also operated an exhibition booth to:

🔹 Promote REAM membership
🔹 Highlight REAM’s technical activities, training and knowledge-sharing platforms
🔹 Strengthen engagement with engineering institutions and stakeholders

🇲🇾 Behind the Scenes: Building the Malaysia Pavilion at REAAA Goyang Conference 2025 🇲🇾

Long before the grand opening of the Malaysia Pavilion, months of careful planning, coordination, and teamwork took place behind the scenes. From design sketches and model concepts to late-night construction and final detailing. every element was crafted with passion and pride to showcase Malaysia’s engineering excellence to the world.

Led by the Special Committee for the Malaysia Pavilion under the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM), with strong support from the Ministry of Works (KKR), Public Works Department (JKR), and Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), the Pavilion came to life through dedication and collaboration across public and private sectors.

Each beam, panel, and exhibit was a story of commitment representing Malaysia’s innovation, sustainability, and craftsmanship in road and infrastructure development.

To all who worked tirelessly behind the curtain: designers, engineers, logisticians, contractors, and volunteers — REAM extends its heartfelt appreciation for turning this vision into reality and proudly placing Malaysia on the international stage. 🇲🇾✨

🇲🇾 Visit of REAM President to Malaysia Pavilion at REAAA Goyang Conference 2025 🇲🇾

KINTEX II, 29 October 2025

YBhg. Dato’ Sri Director General of Public Works Department of Malaysia, who also serves as the President of the Road Engineering Association of Malaysia (REAM), visited the Malaysia Pavilion at the REAAA Goyang Conference 2025.

He was accompanied by YBrs. Ir. Atikah binti Zakaria, Senior Director of the Road Branch, JKR Malaysia, and Secretary General of REAM.

The President was warmly welcomed by YBhg. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Ashaari bin Mohamad, Chairman of the Special Committee for Malaysia Pavilion and REAM Council Member.

During the visit, YBrs. Dr. Azwan Ezzany bin Azmi briefed the President on the design and concept of the Pavilion, which features exhibits from 13 Malaysian organizations and companies showcasing innovation and expertise in the road and highway sector.

The REAM President spent nearly three hours engaging with visitors and exhibitors at the Pavilion before touring other international booths.

The establishment of the Malaysia Pavilion at the International Road and Transport Expo (ROTREX 2025) held in conjunction with REAAA Goyang Conference 2025 was a joint effort between REAM, the Ministry of Works (KKR), Public Works Department (JKR), and Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM).

It aims to highlight Malaysia’s engineering excellence, foster global collaboration, and promote Malaysia as a hub for road and infrastructure expertise.

REAM hopes this close partnership between the public and private sectors will continue to strengthen, bringing Malaysia’s name to the international stage while also supporting the nation’s tourism and trade promotion efforts.
