Having to make posts like this or change booking rules etc really gets under my skin but the people who have no compassion for local service providers ruin it for us all.
On March 1st I was contacted via email by Thomas and Denise Hodges. They have been emailing me since January. We scheduled an airport pick up for April 30th. From the email I sent Thomas my number and he contacted me on Whatsapp to make sure we were connected. I put them on my calendar. April 30th rolled around, I got my kids a babysitter and set off to the airport. I got to the airport and messaged Thomas on Whatsapp to say I was there and to how find him. No response coming through so I figured maybe a WiFi or roaming issue. I sent a normal text. He responds asking if I am with another local driver to which I of course said I was not but that he had booked me. He claims to have cancelled the ride. I sent screenshots to him (posted here) from email and whatsapp to show no such message ever came to me and to which would have been impossible for me to confirm cancellation. I mentioned the fare still has to be paid since not only do we have a 24 hr cancellation policy but also, I did the trip! He is ignoring all of my texts asking for payment which he can do at any Oxxo.
LAKESIDE, PLEASE DONT DO THIS TO YOUR LOCAL SERVICE PROVIDERS!!!
If you are cancelling a service, GET CONFIRMATION! Trust me, I didnt want a joy ride to the airport in heavy traffic.
