Angkor_Thom has five 12th-century gates that lead into the ancient walled city. Each gate stands 20 meters high, features four massive carved stone faces at the top, and has a causeway crossing a wide moat lined with statues of gods and demons playing tug-of-war with a giant serpent.

( ): The most famous and best-restored gate. It is located 7.2 km north of Siem Reap and serves as the main entrance for most visitors traveling from Angkor Wat to the Bayon temple.

: Considered the most pristine of the gates, located east of Bayon. It was historically used for the king's returning military processions.

(Gate of the Dead): A quieter, forested gate on the eastern wall. It gets its nickname from ancient times when it may have been used to transport the deceased.

: A serene entrance that sees far less tourist traffic than the South or Victory gates.

: The most untouched and peaceful gate, offering an atmospheric jungle setting with far fewer crowds.

is a 350-meter-long platform located within the walled city of Angkor Thom, Cambodia. Built in the late 12th century by King Jayavarman VII, this historic landmark was used as a viewing platform for royal ceremonies, public square events, and the king's returning army.

Located just north of the Baphuon temple and directly facing the Victory Square, its retaining walls are famously adorned with intricately carved elephants, garudas, and lions. The terrace features five projecting platforms, with the central stairs displaying life-sized three-headed elephants.

It is best visited as part of the greater Angkor Thom circuit, which also includes the iconic Bayon Temple at the city's center.
