The Matsumoto Folkcraft Museum is Full of Kawaii!
If you love “Kawaii”—that’s the Japanese word for cute or adorable—I highly recommend visiting this museum!
Ever since I moved to Matsumoto, I was interested in the Folkcraft Museum and always wanted to visit.
Recently, I finally had the chance to go. I was really excited, but I drove carefully because the road to the museum is quite narrow.
When I arrived, a friendly staff member at the reception desk welcomed me with a smile.
Right away, I noticed some adorable items near the entrance—small vases that make perfect souvenirs.
I decided to think about buying one later and first explored the exhibition rooms.
Inside, you’ll find Temari balls, Tanabata dolls, and many other local Matsumoto crafts—all of them are so kawaii!
There are also Matsumoto folkcraft furniture, accessories, everyday items, and tools for children.
The museum also displays crafts collected from around the world.
I really enjoyed my time at the museum.
Before leaving, I bought one of the little vases and happily went home.
If you love “Kawaii,” you should definitely visit the Matsumoto Folkcraft Museum.
Here, you are allowed to take pictures of the displays!
