தமிழகம் முழுவதிலும் உள்ள தேசிய நெடுஞ்சாலை சுங்கச்சாவடியில் கட்டண உயர்வு இன்று நள்ளிரவு முதல் அமலுக்கு வருகிறது. சுங்கச்சாவடியில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் செப்டம்பர் 1ம் தேதி கட்டணம் மாற்றி அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது. அதன்படி இந்த ஆண்டுக்கான புதிய சுங்கக்கட்டணம் நள்ளிரவு முதல் அமலுக்கு வருகிறது. இதன்படி கார், வேன்களுக்கு 3 ரூபாய் உயர்த்தப்பட்டு 42 ரூபாய் வசூல் செய்யப்படும். இதே போல் இலகுரக வாகனங்களுக்கு ரூ.73 ரூபாயாக உயர்த்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
