There’s a side to Bali that most Indians miss; its nightlife. Here are some expert takes on each of the above!
1. Beachside Cinema: Most of these shows follow a “silent cinema” setup, so you need to plug in earphones synced with the big screen. They usually start around 6:30–7:00 PM, so get there in time...
2. Finns Beach Club: This isn’t just one spot, but a massive setup with pools, swim-up bars, restaurants, and a packed dance floor!
3. Bali Night Safari: Start with a walking section before the cage tram through open habitats where wild animals come surprisingly close. Try to catch feeding sessions, and get a package with dinner and fire dance show!
4. Kuta Art Market: The vendors are aggressive and will try to pull you in, so if that’s not your thing, you can skip it! Go in with a smile, don’t take the first price, and treat it like a game!
5. Sanur Night Market: Fresh juices, nasi goreng, mie goreng, satay, bakso, all of it at really low prices. They’ve got every combo of fruit juice and it’s super cheap, but if you’re unsure, just follow the busy stalls!
6. Jimbaran Seafood Dinner: You’ll usually have to pick your fish by weight, so prices may look cheap per 100 g but add up fast. Sharing a seafood platter works, and don’t just go with the first place your driver takes you, look for some views!
7. Kecak Fire Dance: This starts off with 50 shirtless men chanting, that’s the “music” of the performance. But as the sun gets lower, the chanting gets louder, with the Monkey King kicking fire around the stage. It even pulls in some audience interaction, so, if you’re not into being part of the show, avoid the first few rows!
8. Devdan Show, Nusa Dua: You’ll see everything from traditional dances to aerial acts and fire elements, so aim for center seats. Photos aren't allowed, and it doesn’t run every day, so plan ahead.
