Indian Tourist Transporters Association Indian Tourist Transporters Association is the national body of Tourist Transport Operators, who are recognized by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India.

Indian Tourist Transporters Association is a registered national body of ‘Tourist Transport Operators’, who are duly recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and are solely involved in providing surface transport facilities to the foreign/domestic tourists. Objectives of the Association

To promote, encourage, develop and safeguard the interest of Tourist, Transport Operators in

India. To promote, encourage, develop and help in bringing about the co-operation between persons, firms, association or companies and authorities concerned with Tourist Transport so that, they might adopt a common policy and collectively take such steps as may be deemed necessary and expedient further and safeguard the interest of this particular association. To take up, consider and discuss questions connected with or affecting the above mentioned areas and to provide facilities for encouragement, co-operation mutual interests and problems connected therewith an for such purpose to organise and promote conferences, exhibitions, demonstrations, lectures, seminars and other useful functions. To enter into any arrangement with the government of India, any local Government, Chambers of Commerce or any other Public or Private Bodies that may seem conducive to the objects of the association or any of them and to obtain from any such government or Authorities all rights, concessions and privileges which the Association may deem desirable in the interest of its members and to obtain and carry out, exercise and comply with any such arrangements, rights, concessions and privileges. To present officially the views of its members on any questions affecting or likely to affect the Transport Operators to the government of India, Local Government, Chambers of Commerce, and any other Public or Private Bodies. To promote, support or oppose legislative or other measures, affecting the Tourist Transport Operators. To collect, circulate and publish statics and other information relating to the Tourist Transport operations in India. To nominate representative of the Association in the various government officials and Semi-official, non-official and other such bodies and Chambers including Associations. To purchase take on lease or hire or otherwise acquires or build any movable or immovable property for the purpose of the Association and sell, improve, manage, develop, lease mortgage, charge, dispose of or otherwise deal with all or any such property for the furtherance of the Association. To invest and deal with the money of the Association in such manner as may from time to time by determined by the Managing Committee and to open and operate current and Fixed Deposit Account with any Bank or Banks or in other approved Government securities to achieve the aims and objects of the Association. To subscribe, acquire and hold shares in become a member of or otherwise co-operative with any other Association whether incorporated or not whose objects are altogether or in parts similar to these of the Association. From time to time to raise money by donation or subscription from patrons and members of the Association. To borrow or raise on secure the payment of money which may be required for the purpose of the Association in such manner as the Association may think fit, and in particular by the issue of promissory notes, bonds, debentures-stock, perpetual or otherwise charged upon all or any of the Association’s property both present and future and to purchase, redeem and pay and such securities or loans in such manner as the Association may think fit for furtherance of the Association. To protect members from fraudulent transaction from the clients and to attain the above objects to invite information from members about defaulters and to maintain list of such defaulters and to request members to stop dealings with any or all such defaulters for such time as may be necessary and to take henceforth such other steps as may be necessary and conducive to any or all of the objects. To commence and undertake any arbitration for settlement of general or special disputes arising between members of the Association. All the incomes, earnings, movable immovable properties of the society shall be solely utilised and applied towards the promotion of its aims and objects only as set for the in the Memorandum of Association and no profit on there of shall be paid or transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonus, profits or in any manner whatsoever to the present or past members of the society or to any person claiming through anyone or more of the present or the past members. No member of the society shall have any personal claim or any movable or immovable properties of the society or make any profits, whatsoever, by virtue of this membership.

Now, free SIM cards for tourists on e-visa

Welcome kits with preloaded SIM cards have been launched by Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Tourism & Culture, Govt. of India, in collaboration with BSNL and Telco for the benefit of foreign tourists visiting the country. He announced, “We are glad to be launching this initiative and hope it is a success. Our aim is to make the tourists’ stay in India a good one and their safety and security is our utmost concern. Hence, the sim cards have been preloaded with about Rs. 50 talktime and 50mb data so that they can connect with their loved ones after landing in India.” The kit is currently available at T3, Indira Gandhi International Airport and will subsequently be rolled out to 15 other airports where e-visa facility is accepted. Tourists can avail the free sim card from the Bureau of Immigration at the airport after filling out an information form.
