For those who love holidaying in the hills, Himachal Pradesh has reopened for tourism, albeit with certain precautions. You can book your hotel in advance (five-day minimum stay) but not without showing a Covid-19 negative test report. The test has to be done by a lab accredited by the ICMR and the report must be from within the last 72 hours, informs Anil Kumar Khachi, chairperson and chief secretory of Himachal Pradesh. Tourists should also be free from any quarantine requirements at the time of entering the state. The inter-state transport service (via bus) continues to remain suspended, but tourists visiting from outside the state can get an e-pass from here. There are different applications for domestic tourists wanting interstate entry as well as intrastate passage. The state is open to international tourists as well.

1. If you're visiting from another town or city, then you need to have a test report for Covid-19, this will be uploaded on the web portal- Dehradun Smart City. It is compulsory for all tourists to get registered on this portal.
2. Your medical report will be verified by the concerned district authorities before you enter the state.
3. You will need to show an RT PCR test report, from the last 72 hours, at your hotel/homestay. This report should come from a lab authorised by the ICMR.
4. Hotel premises have not been given the permission to open bars. But guests could order liquor through room service.
5. Although there are no restrictions on the number of days tourists can stay in Uttarakhand, homestays and hotels are only allowed to take a minimum 7-day booking.
