Whistle Taxi App was launched as an app to help reduce commissions, where drivers would be the owner of the company..
Several issues stopped us succeeding.
1. We set up asking drivers for too little investment. There were 5 investors and their money far exceeded the drivers imput.
2. The management made a big mistake by setting up the company as a private limited company. You can only have 99 shareholders in a private limited company. If Whistle is to work, a "Public Limited Company" which would allow thousands of drivers to be the owners of their own app company.
If the NTA don't set up an App for drivers, then drivers should consider going back to the drawing board and let's discuss getting Whistle Taxi App started. No big upfront money is required. The app technology we invested in is now top notch and running very well in other European countries. We also have the database of 30,000 tax users. Their telephone numbers verified and email addresses.
Point being. If the drivers want their own app with a legal shareholding. They can control their business. Even a 10% share of the market would be a start and it could grow gradually.
