India's Supreme Court said on October 5 it never approved a modified voter form. The Election Commission had claimed it did. Mass protests in New Delhi and Mumbai demand the election chief resign. Opposition parties and Gen Z groups say about 130 million names were removed from voter rolls. The Election Commission says it only removed duplicate or ineligible entries. Two election commissioners recorded at least 14 written objections between November 2025 and August 2026. The commission still says its decisions were unanimous. The court's statement now sits against that claim. One institution says the form was never approved. Another says it was.

A court and an election body disagree on a basic fact.
Which one do you trust? 😳
