This day is called Nyepi – the Balinese Silent Day, a very special and sacred day celebrated once a year as the Balinese New Year in the Hindu calendar.

For 24 hours, the entire island follows four main rules:
• No fire or lights
• No working
• No traveling
• No entertainment

Even the airport closes and all roads are empty.

People stay at home to reflect, meditate, and reconnect with themselves and nature. It’s a moment of peace, gratitude, and spiritual cleansing.

The night sky during Nyepi is also incredible because there are almost no lights on the island, making the stars shine brighter than ever. ⭐️

Bali truly becomes one of the quietest places in the world for one day.
