Honored to Join PIP Makassar’s 104th Dies Natalis International Seminar
We were proud to take part in the International Seminar celebrating the 104th Dies Natalis of PIP Makassar. Equinox was represented by Capt. Fandi, our Manager, who also served as Maderator—guiding the conference discussion with professionalism and warmth from start to finish.
The seminar brought together esteemed speakers from the World Maritime University, an IMO representative, Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) Surabaya, United Nation Economic and Social Commision for Asia and The Pacific, Indonesia Ministry of Transportation and other reputable institutions and practitioners. The discussions were rich, insightful, and future-focused.
Highlights & takeaways:
Maritime decarbonization and energy transition: practical pathways for ports and ship operators.
Digitalization & data: leveraging AI/IoT for safer, more efficient operations.
Human capital & training: strengthening competencies to meet evolving STCW expectations.
Safety & compliance: reinforcing a just culture and risk-based approaches on board and ashore.
Academia–industry collaboration: turning research into implementable solutions.
Our thanks to PIP Makassar for the exceptional organization and hospitality, to all speakers for their thought leadership, and to participants who made the exchange truly impactful. Equinox remains committed to partnering across academia, industry, and regulators to advance safe, sustainable, and resilient maritime operations.
