Hi everyone,

It is with some sadness but also great excitement that Dale and I, due to retirement and health, have decided to hang up the keys for Langdale Travel. It is with great pleasure that, as of 27th August 2024, we will be handing over the reins to our youngest daughter Rozi, who will do the bookings and admin duties, and her husband Andy, who will do the driving.

Dale and I started Langdale Travel in 2007, and I simply cannot believe it's been 17 years; to say we've had our ups and downs would be an understatement, we've dragged our backsides through the mud to make it work and believe me when I say there are lots of times we've been so close to chucking it in, but no! Somehow through sheer madness and determination we've kept it going, and God only knows how, so it's now time for us to make some lovely memories and hand over to the kids.

We know in our hearts this is the right thing to do, as Rozi and Andy have already been with us both for work and the running of the firm in the past and holidays etc, and our regulars who know them already know what a wonderful asset they are to Langdale Travel and know that they will carry on giving the professionalism that our customers expect and have grown accustomed to over the years.

We would like to wish all our customers who were loyal to us over the last 17 years our deepest and sincere thanks as we couldn't have done it without you and we're hoping all our customers, present and future, will join us in wishing Rozi and Andy all the very best for the future.

Hi everybody! As some of you know, Garry, who runs Langdale Travel, has taken some time off this year for health reasons, but we are pleased to confirm that he is now back at work! With that in mind, this year has been difficult for us, and for the first time ever we have decided to close over Christmas so that we can spend some much needed time together as a family.

🎁🎅🎄The Dreaded C Word! 🎄🎅🎁

We are starting to get booked up for December, particularly Friday & Saturday nights and New Year's Eve. We do require FULL PAYMENT to secure bookings during peak times. Unfortunately, due to late cancellations and no shows, we have had to implement this.

As many of our customers know, we have only had one driver working for most of the year due to illness, so we would really recommend booking sooner rather than later to avoid disappointment!

‼️IMPORTANT INFO - DEPOSITS‼️

Unfortunately, due to late cancellations and no shows, we have made the decision to start taking deposits to secure bookings at peak times. This will be mostly be weekends & bank holidays, and we will be asking for 50% of the fare upfront. This is refundable up until 48 hours before your booking. Payments can be made by card online. The remaining balance is to be paid at the end of the journey - although, if preferred, we can take pre-payment for the full fare.

Langdale Travel has faced some personal difficulties and there have been some changes over the last few months. We wish to thank our loyal customers for sticking by us and being so patient. It really is appreciated, and we have everything crossed that normal service will resume shortly.

We anticipate this Christmas will be extremely busy for us and recommend that you don't wait too long before booking your private hire vehicle!

We are already filling up fast for Christmas parties, nights out, Christmas shopping, etc etc. We are only a small, family run business with 2 cars.

❗Covid-19 Vaccination Offer❗

Due to the amount of enquiries we've had for bookings to Beverley Racecourse for coronavirus vaccinations, we have decided to introduce a heavily reduced rate for the return journey plus waiting time of just £25.

This includes pick up from one address in Market Weighton, taking the passenger(s) to Beverley Racecourse, and waiting for up to 30 minutes before returning back home.

Please note all passengers must sit in the rear of our vehicles and wear face coverings for the duration of the journey (unless medically exempt). Extra waiting time is charged at £5 per 15 minutes - although we have currently not had to wait for longer than 30 minutes.

We will also offer similar deals on pick ups from neighbouring towns and villages, please ask us for a quote if required.
