What a sight.

Love me a tall ship.

Dropped off a couple of cahones, or limes, to stop the scurvy, and a bottle of good British navy rum as recommended by my dad, a nice welcome for the captain and crew aboard the El Galeón Andalucía
Currently sat at Whitehaven Harbour Commissioners

Had a good laugh talking with as many crew as we could, before quenching our thirst and hunger amongst the various food and drink venues on the harbour.

Right.

I'm not from Cumbria, I am from the same planet as you, there's no discovery of a planet similar to earth. This is what we have amd make the best of it while you are on it. You want serendipity?
You live in Cumbria and a tall ship arrives in your shore?
Go see it, bring the crew gifts, beer, local crafts, clothing, seasonal items, be heard, be strong, be proud of being Cumbrian, take your kids, bring everyone, it's only here for a few days, make the biggest welcome ever to a tall ship arriving into a dock in history, your kids will remember it forever, they don't come to these harbours and ports whimsically, they chose Cumbria, ill be going and I'll be bringing rum, go, make their day and yours, use it or lose it, history matters.
