First and last mile cic First and Last Mile CIC brings bus services back to communities who have lost them. It will work not for personal profit but to serve the community.

It acts in concert with other bus companies, councils and local communities... First and Last Mile CIC exists to bring bus services back to communities who have lost them or through demographic change require new services. It will act in concert with other local bus companies, councils and local communities. It will never be a competitor to others but will work to enhance their success. All servic

es will be tailored to meet the needs of local people and guided by those they serve. Costs will be kept to a minimum and any surpluses ploughed back into services. Services will operate to the highest standard. All sections of the community must feel comfortable with the service and that it is a local service run by local people for the local community. The company will always strive to improve and extend services but only in a sustainable way. All volunteers will be expected to uphold the highest standards but in a friendly manner.

Fancy a free dance party? FLM will be running a free bus service to the Rock n Roll afternoon in Witney on 23rd January 2026. It's on from 2.30-4pm and our bus will follow the usual 471 route from Northmoor at 1.45pm and return at 4.10pm. It's free but you must book a seat in advance on 07584 927050.

Join us on our friendly 471 shopper bus on Wednesday and Fridays as we have a laugh and travel from at 9.30am, picking up at Sutton and , dropping off at stops in Witney including the Methodist Church, Market Square and Sainsbury's. The return journey starts at 11.55am and gives you around 1.5 hours in town. It costs just £3 each way or free to OCC concession pass holders. We've said goodbye to our silver lease buses and passed on our 411 & 418 routes to other operators, but First and last mile still continues to transport local people with our old "Hop-On" bus, the 471 Witney Shopper service and an enthusiastic bunch of volunteers.
The future holds many possibilities including a new bus, new routes and community hire so watch this space. To help us move forward, we are actively fundraising, discussing grants and have launched a crowdfunding campaign.

Just a reminder that there will be no 418 or 411 FLM bus service on bank holiday Monday. We will be back on Tuesday 26th August for our final week before the new operators take over our routes on 1st September, except the 471 Witney shopper route which we will continue to run.

First and Last Mile are pleased to announce that we will continue to operate the Wednesday and Friday 471 Shopper Service to Witney from Bablock Hythe, Northmoor, Stanton Harcourt, Sutton and South Leigh, with financial support from Oxfordshire County Council. The timetable will be unchanged.

The 411, 411S and 418 services will be operated by West Oxfordshire Community Transport from 1st September with a revised timetable which is available on their website.
