It was an absolute honor for MBRC to be part of the team delivering this scheme to an exceptional standard on one of the country’s most iconic and scenic parts of the road network. Well done to everyone involved, from the highly skilled crews on the ground to the guys & girls behind the scenes, who worked their socks off to make sure everything was orchestrated perfectly and to programme with plenty of challenges along the way. Onto the next one….
We’ve resurfaced a two-mile stretch of the iconic B3135 through Cheddar Gorge - one of Britain’s most scenic routes - on time and on budget. 🏞️
✅ 1,300 tonnes of old road recycled
✅ Night-time work to minimise disruption
✅ Lower carbon emissions by reusing transport
A huge thank you to our contractors, Heidelberg Materials UK , for overcoming steep gradients, narrow sections, and even local wildlife (hello goats and rare-breed sheep!) to keep this landmark in good condition.
