Just over a year ago we lost Paul Manning, one of our long term employees and a key member of staff. Paul suffered with Motor Neurone Disease, which is a horrible degenerative condition. Paul's grand-daughter, Chloe, is running a 12km mud race for the Motor Neurone Disease Association on 19th May. Please support her in raising £200 in Paul's memory and to raise money for this worthwhile cause. Thank you.

I'll be the first to admit that we don't always get it right first time. Sometimes we get it wrong and people complain. Far fewer people take the time to say "Thank you" when we get it right, which makes it all the lovlier to get something like this today.

Today we're honoured to be featured on the Essex Bus Enthusiast's Group page. This photo was taken in 2004.

FROM THE ARCHIVES: EBEG members enjoyed an evening visit to NIBS depot in Wickford back on July 20th, 2004 and lots of buses were moved out for photos, including this pair of VRs. NDL652R has of course since been preserved and superbly restored to Southern Vectics livery by Group member Chris Stewart and his brother John, as featured at the IoW Beer & Buses event last autumn and now on the rear cover of the latest issue of the excellent Classic Bus magazine.

We operated 652 for many years until we passed her on for preservation. We’ve just been sent a couple of photos of her first trip back to the Isle of Wight in over 20 years. Many thanks to Chris Stewart for the photos and for looking after her so well.

This is Paul. Paul came to us for 7 weeks work placement in 1994 and has never moved on. He helps us keep vehicles clean and tidy one day a week. Paul has an amazing sense of humour and asks interesting questions that make you stop and think. He's obsessed with buses and the dangers of smoking.
