Morning all, earlier today while on a local taxi job in Sunderland, I had the unfortunate displeasure to be stuck behind a local Skoda Octavia taxi which was absolutely spewing out black smoke on every acceleration. We have all been there and It was horrible to see that, especially for a vehicle that is regularly driving round residential areas.
This got me thinking about the pros and cons in diesel vs electric taxi and other local transportation options. It's a debate we often hear, but one that's becoming increasingly important as we consider the impact on our environment and communities.
Owning an electric taxi service, I could be forgiven for being biased, but Im a realist and understand that not everyone is in a position to be able to move across to electric and there are limitations.
💭 On one hand, we have diesel taxis, known for their reliability and widespread availability. But with that comes the undeniable reality of emissions, contributing to air pollution and climate change.
On the flip side, electric taxis offer a promising solution, with zero emissions and lower operating costs in the long run. However, challenges such as limited charging infrastructure and higher upfront costs remain barriers to widespread adoption.
