There is alot of flooding out there today I just had a job to Grizebeck and i had to turn around and cancel at Gawthwaite the Dudden Bridge has flooded and we now have a solid traffic jam going that way from Gawthwaite to Grizebeck onwards.

I suggest avoid traveling towards Grizebeck right now. Loads of the lanes have flooded aswell as main roads it's more than a foot deep in places.

Drive carefully if you need to get about and be mindful it may have flooded around a blind corner on a back lane.

The A590 will have a significant road closure for 5 weeks from 8pm until 6am from the 5th of October.

I can confirm that there is petrol & diesel at every station I've heard about this morning from other drivers members of the public and customers. So that's it panic over (if you were about to panic).

Murko Ulverston has fuel and has deliverys planned.
Gulf Ulverston has fuel
Ireleth filling station also has standard stocks.
Grizebeck station has fuel and more on the way.

We recommend you just go about filling up as usual.

The Market Street Road closure is in place now for 42 days the only way around it in Dalton is side streets to Chapel Street which is a terrible diversion. We strongly recommend using the a590 if you were planning on going through to go home from this evening.

We keep being asked about face masks and if they are required in a taxi currently.

It is your personal preference we are OK if you wear them or if you don't want to thats OK too. We will wear one for you as standard incase it would make you feel uncomfortable or for if you were to shy to ask us to wear one.

So its fully up to you and how you would feel safe.

I've just had a call from SLDC taxi rank officer to help assist them on the exact location for the Market Street taxi rank to get it repainted.

They used a app called what three words to pin point the exact location for the highways department it's a very interesting app for if you ever get lost or park your car somewhere unfamiliar.

The Ulverston Market Street rank should be repainted soon (maybe a few months) with a bigger sign to indicate its a no parking area to help taxi drivers park easier and for customers to be able to access the vehicles more safely.

Traffic is extremely bad on the A590 particularly Eastbound it has just taken me 2hours 15mins to get to Cornforth n back. It took me around 40 mins in the traffic from Hatherthwaite to just past Ayside.

I came back through Grange then up grange fell road as it was bust through the alternative route through Flookbourgh. It was a Absobulte Nightmare of a trip the roadworks should have been done at night time. Expect atleast 30 mins of delays I'd strongly recommend going down the moses around to Grange-over-Sands.

Eastbound there is traffic lights at Ayeside and coming Westbound there is also single lane closures to the lights.

We got a new fun place to take the kids in Ulverston there's a new maize maze, at the Cumbrian Cow Maize Maze & ice cream shop, there's bouncey castles trampolines and benches the maze is very tall too on a large field. 😁

Head down Mountbarrow Road towards Birkrigg past the garage then turn right at the crossroads go 50 yds then turn right into the feild/ car park.

The UK government has stealthily put out E10 fuel at the garage pumps without making too much fuss about it.

If you own a car from pre 2000s you might want to look at this as there's a strong possibility it may damage older cars. They seem to want to speed up getting older cars off the road.

A new green fuel called E10 is now available at most petrol pumps. But what does it mean for your motor?

The A590 is currently closed both directions from Newby Bridge round about to the Levens round about. Due to a serious collision there is a 27 mile diversion through Windermere.
