The new BYD Seal U Hybrid is proving to be a very popular choice for local weddings at a great price. With a full panoramic roof, and plenty of legroom while being extremely quiet and comfortable you can travel to the venue and relax while looking forward to your exciting day.
Nikki got married last Saturday and was happy for me to share a picture of her looking amazing, with her dad and myself with the car.
Dad Adam also left us a great review on Google😁
If you want something a bit different for your wedding or special event call me on the chauffeur line 01732 363632 or fill in the booking / enquiry form on our website www,castle-cars.com.

Castle Cars is 31 years old today. Happy Birthday to us😁🎉🎁

31/12/2025

As we approach 2026, all of us at Castle Cars would like to wish everyone a Happy, and hopefully Prosperous New Year.
2025 saw us win our second First Place in the national Small Private Hire Company of the Year the Professional Driver Magazine Awards ceremony at the Brighton Metropole Hotel. I can now announce that we have yet again been shortlisted for the 10th consecutive time for the same award, as well as a Community Award👏.
We will find out if we have won it on Jan 29th, but even if we finish top 3 for the 10th time we will have set a record unlikely to ever be beaten by anyone else 🤩🤩🤩

This year has also seen its share of sadness for us as a few of our regular and long standing customers of many years have unfortunately passed away. Miss Munday, of Waterloo Place, Jill Anderson, a councillor from Hadlow and 3 times Mayor of TMBC recently passed, and both will be missed as well as the others. RIP to all of them😢

Most of all we would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support throughout a difficult year for most of us.

If we don’t see you tonight we hope to see you all again next year, best wishes to you all 😘

Terry, Aly, Tony, Sam, Sham and all of the drivers👍

❤️ TWO FARES … TWO VERY DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES
Story sent to PHTM from a Buxton cabbie …. share your thoughts

The other day, while sat on the taxi rank, a middle-aged man and his son came over and asked how much it would be to get to Buxton Car Centre.

“About £5,” I said.

He wasn’t impressed — told me Uber only charge £3.90 and said he didn’t want “ripping off.”

I politely told him to order one then.

He carried on, saying I should do it for less, but I just smiled and refused. There’s no point arguing — there’s a huge difference between what a global company can charge and what a small, local, licensed driver has to charge to stay legal, insured and professional.

Then today, sat on the same rank, I had a very different experience.

A lovely lady got in wanting to go to Burbage. She’s 91 years old, known by all of us Buxton taxi drivers. We all know she has dementia, lives alone and sometimes takes a little while to get inside safely — but every single one of us always waits until we see her safely through her front door before driving off.

❤️ That’s what local taxi drivers do.

Uber might often be cheaper, BUT there’s a world of difference between a faceless app and a friendly, trusted local driver who actually cares about the people in their community.

A great day for reviews for Castle Cars today, with another 5 so far on Google😍
We love to see how much our passengers appreciate the service we provide, and it certainly helps keep a smile on our faces😁
Thank you to everyone that uses us, and especially those that tell the world how we are the best👏👍

As we rapidly approach the school summer holidays we are being flooded with airport enquiries.
Please ensure that you get your booking in to us in plenty of time to avoid disappointment. As soon as you have your flight details then get your transfers booked. It can always be amended later if anything changes but at least you will have one less thing to worry about while arranging your excursions etc😎😉

We often get asked if we take dogs in our cars, and whenever we can we try to accommodate this. However we are now getting fewer and fewer drivers that are prepared to take them, and the pictures attached show the reason why😢
This was one of our drivers that has a new car and takes a lot of pride in keeping it immaculate (like most of our drivers). He was sent to pick up a passenger with a ‘puppy’, however when he got there this puppy was larger that many adult dogs!
It then jumped on the back seat and also clawed at them leaving permanent marks😡
It took the driver over an hour to clean the car again stopping him from earning for all that time, all for a £6 fare.
Unfortunately this is not a rare occurrence, so please if you have a dog, and need a taxi, then have some respect for the car and driver. The dog should be on the floor and not the seats. The council tariff allows taxis to charge up to £100 for ‘soiling’ the vehicle, so it is in your interest to make sure that the car is left as clean as when you got in it.
Of course we will still take guide dogs and disability dogs where they can be clearly identified as such, as required by law, but these animals never give us an issue.
Other small dogs / animals will only be taken with advance notification and if we have a driver prepared to do so. Large breeds will unfortunately have to make other arrangements.
I hope you all understand, but if you were going out for the evening in your best clothes how would you feel if you were covered in hairs when you got out?
