Day 2 of our gala today and sadly Mynyddwr is unavailable due to unforeseen circumstances, but we are delighted to say Skipper is joining the party and will be running some freight trains.

Yesterday 3 of our steam engines did a triple header on the last train. Normal fares apply today and last train is at 5pm.

As part of our 40th year celebrations. This weekend (16th and 17th May) sees our second event of the year. Our Home Fleet gala. This event is all about our working engines with as many as possible coming out to play over the weekend. Along with our normal passenger trains a demonstration freight train will be making an appearance over both days. Normal fares apply.

Today (Sunday 12th April) we have 4 steam engines running our service with a diesel in reserve. Last train 5pm. We open daily (weather and volunteer permitting) until Sunday 19th April. We are also getting excited about our next event for our 40th year. Our home fleet gala on the 16th and 17th May.

Today (bank holiday Monday 6th April 2026) we have 3 steam engines being prepared for service. At least one of our hard working diesels will be in service as well. The suns out and Swanley Park looks lovely. We are open 11am to 5pm.

FAQs (2026 version 1 )
1) When are you open?
We are open weekends, Kent primary school holidays and bank holidays from April 3rd until the end of October, 11am until 5pm (4pm after the clocks go back), weather and volunteer numbers permitting. Any closures at the above times will be notified on our FB page.
2) Do you accept cards or cash?
We accept all major cards and cash (card preferred)
3) What are your fares?
Our fares are £1.50 single, £2 return per person: under 3's are free.

In preparation for our opening tomorrow (our 40th year) our very hard working diesels were allowed out today for some testing. We are delighted to see Nesiag (far left) out of the shed after missing all of 2025. All 3 diesels are expected to see some use over the Easter holidays. Trains opens around 11am tomorrow (Friday 3rd April) with our last train about 5pm.
