04:34 🚐

Usually one of my favourite runs up towards Heathrow at this time of the morning. Quiet roads, sunrise coming up… but today there was an unexpected pause near West Knoyle on the A303.

Looks like everyone was OK thankfully and a big thank you to the emergency services getting things sorted.

Anyway… onwards to T3 for a Millfield pickup ☕

Three days off.

Still got held up by traffic. 🐴

Walked out for a coffee in Street… discovered the pedestrian crossing had recruited security staff 🐝

The crow got away with it 🐦

Funny old thing, Somerset.

Days like this remind you why everything is so green around here. We moan about the rain sometimes, but I suppose you can’t have one without the other… bit of yin and yang to it all.

Busy day, beautiful roads, Glastonbury Tor sitting quietly in the distance… and then a crow decided to add itself to the story.

Thankfully… the crow got away with it 🚐

Bank holiday traffic update from the driver’s seat today 🚐☀️

Just been up to Terminal 3 dropping a couple of Millfield students off and the roads are absolutely wild out there. Nearly three hours coming back cross-country round the back of Devizes just to avoid the chaos 😅

Still… all good. Steady driving, windows down, Somerset looking green, and somehow I even managed to squeeze a haircut into the schedule.

If you’re travelling this weekend, leave early and take it easy out there 👍

Bath. Beautiful, historic, architecturally stunning.

Absolutely nowhere to park.

Managed to park under a rainbow on the way to Castle Cary today… 🌈🚖

Not easy to do, admittedly.

Crazy weather at the moment. One minute sunshine, the next hiding under an umbrella listening to the rain bouncing off the car roof.

Still convinced the pot of gold is somewhere near Castle Cary.

Today’s tour stop was Long Barrow near Avebury 🌿

While the guests were exploring, I wandered off towards a hidden spring nearby.

That decision was monitored very closely by what can only be described as an organised local cattle committee, who appeared from nowhere and seemed deeply suspicious of my presence 🐄👀

I eventually retreated towards Silbury Hill under observation 🌒

Just another completely normal day running minibus tours with Maggs Travel through Somerset and Wiltshire 🚐🌾

Some evenings stay with you.

Stonehenge at last light, before the crowds, before the noise, just the wind moving across the fields and the old stones catching the final sun.

Moments like this are why I love what I do.
