A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after three people were killed when a taxi was hit by a van travelling the wrong way on a motorway during a police pursuit and crashed head-on.

The Mirror reports that two occupants of the fleeing van have also been "critically" injured in the horror smash on the M606, Bradford, West Yorkshire, last night.

The dead taxi driver has been named as Sohail Ali, 28, who was taking a fare out of Bradford at 10.45pm. His passenger, not yet named, also died.

A third person, travelling in the van, didn't survive after being rushed to hospital

Police arrested the teenager in hospital and in a statement they said: ”Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a serious collision in Bradford.

“The 15-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but remains in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.

“Due to the nature of the incident West Yorkshire Police has informed the Independent Office for Police Conduct.”

A spokesperson for his family said Sohail worked for ZIP, saying: ”The driver and a passenger, were pronounced deceased as a result of the van hitting them head-on as it travelled the wrong way up the motorway, towards Bradford.”

Speaking today, his family paid tribute to him. They said: “Sohail was a young hardworking, happy, gentle, and kind individual.

“From a young age, he has always been hard-working and has always gone the extra mile for his family, friends and anyone in the community.

“If ever he was needed, he was always first to offer his support and love.

“He had the ability to make you feel comfortable with his presence and words, he knew exactly what to say and when to say it.

“Sohail had many cousins, all to whom he was like a best friend, he will be dearly missed by all of us his father, mother, brothers, sister and all of our family.

“We are all distraught at this heart-breaking and shocking news.”

Sohail grew up and lived in the BD8 area and was on his way to Huddersfield to drop off a customer he had picked up in Bradford.

They said he was passionate about his job and added: “All his customers loved him, especially the elderly.”

One friend of Mr ali paid tribute online writing: "Rest in peace Sohail brother one of the most down to earth lads I’ve met and deffo the best taxi driver about."

Another wrote: "Can’t get my head round it, was only talking to your dad about you yesterday.

"If you knew Sohail you know he was one of the best lads around! Till we meet again brother fly high."

⬛️ WOMAN'S HORROR AS MANCHESTER UBER DRIVER PERFORMS S*X ACT WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC

A woman who claims her Uber driver started ‘ma********ng’ when they got stuck in traffic has slammed police for failing to take her complaint seriously.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the incident is now being investigated by Greater Manchester Police’s professional standards branch.

Uber says they have suspended the driver’s account while an investigation takes place.

The woman requested an Uber to take her home from a work event in Manchester city centre just after 11pm on Thursday night, 4 November.

"I was sat in the back behind the driver,” she says.

“As we were coming down the M67, we ground to a halt as the police had closed the road for an accident up ahead.

"So I was waiting in the taxi trying to chat to the driver and he was a bit grumpy.

"I noticed the car started shaking and I could hear this rubbing noise. I asked 'what are you doing?'.

"This went on and it stopped and started. I moved to the middle seat to try and talk to him, I wanted him to stop.

"I text my husband and said 'I'm fairly confident the driver of this Uber is ma********ng'.

“He phoned me and said to put him on the phone but I didn't want the driver to take my phone.

"There was a bit of this starting and stopping and the car shaking and the rubbing noise. I never actually saw his p***s, but if he was not doing that he certainly wanted me to think he was.

"I said 'I'm getting out' and asked 'Are you ma********ng' and he didn't respond."

The woman says she got out of the car onto the motorway and approached a nearby police officer and explained the situation but was told she needed to get back inside her vehicle.

"He asked which car it was and started walking me back to the car," she says.

"I told him I wasn't getting back in that taxi and he said 'you're going to have to because you can't stand out in the carriageway'."

The woman says the officer then 'reluctantly' agreed to let her sit in the back of the police car.

She was there for around 45 minutes before anyone spoke to her properly, she says.

Sometime later, she says another officer arrived and asked if she would like them to arrest the Uber driver.

“I said ‘yeah’,” she says.

“They asked if I could identify him and I told them the name and car was on my Uber app. I told him what had happened and he told me this case was unlikely to get a prosecution. They had not even taken my name at that point.

“By then I was more worried about how I would get home. I said ‘okay, leave it’. Then the first officer came over to return my phone and said ‘I find it very doubtful that a man would do this whilst he knows he’s trapped in the traffic’.

“I said ‘are you telling me this didn’t happen’ and he just shrugged his shoulders and passed me the phone.”

The woman says officers dropped her at McDonald’s, in Hattersley, where her husband had ordered her a cab home.

She has since reported both the alleged crime and her complaint about officers’ conduct.

"They said there would be an investigation and I would get a written outcome,” she says.

She adds: "In my opinion that is quite a dangerous officer because he is not only inept and didn't take a report, but he also tried to get me back in the taxi.

"If I had not been so insistent I could have ended back in that Uber. And someone else with perhaps less life experience might have.

"It was a s*x crime.

“I was in a position where I was vulnerable, I told a police officer and you think they would at least get you home safe."

The M.E.N put these claims to Greater Manchester Police.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Firstly, we completely acknowledge the effect incidents of this nature can have on victims, and we are sorry for any instances whereby a member of the public has not received a good service from us.

"We can confirm that GMP has received a complaint regarding the police response to this incident which is in the process of being assessed by our Professional Standards Branch.

“As a result it would be inappropriate for us to comment further at this time."

An Uber spokesperson said: "We are appalled by this allegation and have a zero tolerance policy on any such behaviour in the Uber community.

“In this case the driver's account has been suspended while an investigation takes place.”
