If you look after someone, you’re not alone, and we’re here for you.

Join us for a full week of free events, drop-ins and activities designed to provide support, advice, and a chance to connect with others who understand.

• Carers advisor drop-in sessions across the borough at Warm Welcome sessions in community locations
• Stockton Heritage Trail walk with Stockton-on-Tees Libraries
• Grand opening of the LiveWell Hub courtyard

⚠ There has been a Yellow Heat-Health Alert issued by the Met Office for the North East - in effect between 22/05/2026 at 2PM and 27/05/2026 at 5PM.

🟠⚠ Amber heat-health alerts have been issued to the health systems across central England until Wednesday 27 May, with yellow alerts covering the rest of the country.
While hot weather may be welcome for some, it can still have a serious impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Early warnings help those in health and social care, as well as anyone supporting more vulnerable individuals, such as older adults and young children, to prepare and take appropriate action.

Stockton Adult Carers will be closed over the Late May Bank Holiday weekend.
We will reopen and be available as usual from 9am on Tuesday 26 May.

🌼 Happy Hippy Shake to round off Dementia Action Week!🌼

What a truly lovely way to bring such an important week to a close.

💜 We’ve had a fantastic time celebrating together at The Malleable Social Club, filled with music, laughter, dancing, and wonderful company. It was so heart warming to see everyone getting involved, sharing smiles, and enjoying the moment 💃✨

A huge congratulations to John Hirst on completing his charity walk, what an incredible achievement! 👏 Your dedication and effort are truly inspiring!

🎶 A big thank you to Steve for the brilliant singing, you created such a fun and uplifting atmosphere, and had everyone joining in!

And of course, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. Your presence, energy, and enthusiasm made the afternoon so special and reminded us all of the importance of connection, community, and creating happy memories together 💕

🛠️ Stay Safe & Independent at Home 🏡

The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) supports residents to live safely and independently at home through practical adaptations and support.

✅ Available for those aged 60+, living with a disability, or at risk of falls

🔧 Free handyperson service (2 hours labour) for small repairs and safety improvements
🪛 Help includes minor DIY, installing handrails and bannisters (no gardening or decorating)

🙂 The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) helps people in the Borough remain safe and independent in their own home by providing adaptions.

🫶 The service is for residents who are living with a disability, have care and support needs, are aged 60 plus or are considered to be at high risk of falls.

🔨 The Handyperson service can support those who are eligible to remain safe and secure in their own home. We offer two hours free labour to assist with low level DIY type work. Please note this does not include gardening or decorative work.

🔧 Work includes minor repairs and household tasks, installing items and materials purchased by the residents and not the responsibility of any landlord, such as putting up bannisters and handrails.

Join us with Shape The Play this afternoon at the LiveWell Hub 💜

This week is Dementia Action week 💜

Tomorrow from 1pm-2.30pm at the Livewell Hub in Thornaby, Shape The Play will be hosting our regular Football Memories & Gentle Exercise session — and everyone is welcome to come along.

The session includes around 30 minutes of light, gentle exercise followed by a cuppa, conversation, and the chance to look through football memorabilia while sharing stories and memories from years gone by.

It’s always a relaxed, friendly afternoon full of laughter, connection and plenty of football chat!

Whether football has been a big part of your life, or you just fancy getting out for a brew and some good company, we’d love to see you there……💜

🎶 Dementia Action Week Singalong Songbook 🎶

💜 We had a fantastic time at our Dementia Action Week special singalong songbook session at the beautiful Stockton Globe

It was wonderful to see so many people coming together to enjoy music, memories, and a good singalong, such a joyful and uplifting atmosphere for everyone involved.

🙌 A huge thank you to Josh for his support in making the session so special!

🎤✨ Music truly has the power to connect us all, and this was a perfect way to celebrate the week!

A wonderful afternoon at the Hampton by Hilton Stockton-on-Tees to start Dementia Action Week 💜

Our regular drop-in is on the first Wednesday of every month, 2pm - 4pm, supporting carers, families and those living with dementia.

Thank you for the lovely tea and cakes!

Kicking off Dementia Awareness Week 💙 today we held an additional afternoon tea drop-in, enjoying the sunshine out on the terrace!

Our regular drop-ins take place on the first Wednesday of every month at 2pm, welcoming people living with dementia along with their husbands, wives and carers for a warm drink and good company! We hope to see you there 😊
