Logistics Operative – Darlington Depot
We are seeking a reliable and organised Logistics Operative to join the Stan Robinson team. This is a varied role combining administrative responsibilities within the transport planning office, and hands-on warehouse FLT duties.
The successful candidate will play a key part in providing accurate record-keeping, the efficient coordination of deliveries and ensuring the smooth movement of goods.
Transport Planning Office / Administration Duties:
• Coordinating inbound and outbound deliveries
• Scheduling transport and liaising with drivers and third-party hauliers
• Processing delivery paperwork and transport documents
• Updating internal systems with accurate logistics data
• Dealing efficiently with customer and supplier queries regarding deliveries.
Alongside your office duties, you will be required to provide warehouse
support.
Warehouse Duties:
• Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently
• Picking, packing, and preparing orders for dispatch
• Stock control, including inventory checks and reporting discrepancies
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
• Operating forklift trucks in line with health and safety regulations.
You should have:
• Strong organisational and administrative skills
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Basic IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, warehouse management systems)
• A proactive and flexible approach to work
• A valid forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach)
• Previous experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment
Desirable:
• Experience in a transport planning office or transport coordination role
• Knowledge of UK transport regulations and compliance
• Familiarity with logistics or warehouse management systems
