FTX Logistics Limited

FTX Logistics Limited FTX Logistics Ltd operates and maintains the UK MoD’s Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET) Service. In peacetime we deliver abnormal loads for the MoD.

We employ and train Sponsored Reserves and HGV Mechanics for peacetime and operational duties. FTX Logistics Ltd (FTX) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kellogg Brown & Root Ltd, part of the KBR worldwide group of companies. The company holds a contract to deliver the British Army & Heavy Equipment Transportation Service. FTX employs 85 Sponsored Reservists (SRs) to operate and maintain the service

and therefore employ both Drivers and Maintainers (HGV mechanics). The company is also responsible for training the regular Army to use the HET trucks. There are two elements to our Non-Operational Service: Both vehicles & SRs have to stay ready to deploy and we maintain peacetime tasks (i.e. meeting the MoD’s equipment transportation requirements). During Operational Service the MoD may call up HET Vehicles and sufficient SRs to man one-third of the vehicles for war fighting or peace-keeping missions. SRs then become subject to military discipline and work alongside Army regulars. Also during operations, the company supplies vehicle spares as required. As well as delivering training for the HET, our Instructors are qualified to deliver a range of training for commercial companies. Being employed at FTX Logistics can provide a varied and exciting job and we recruit a number of times every year. We accept and respond to application forms all year round. Previous Military experience is an advantage, however, applications are welcome from interested people who meet our requirements. Training will be given and elements of the Military training are tailored to take account of previous experience. For detailed job descriptions, visit our main website www.ftxlog.com

On Wednesday 26 November 2025, as part of our Social Values Commitment, FTX Logistics conducted an interactive Road Safety presentation to the children of Bathford Church School in Bath.

The personnel involved were Sarah Judkins, Joe Rose, Lee Cowan, and Mick Donnelly.

The theme for the training session was Blind spots around HGV vehicles and Be Safe be Seen. To that end a HET was despatched with Lee and Mick, to help with delivering the message.

The children had been presented a Road Safety presentation, prior to the practical lesson with us. Excited is an understatement of how to describe the children, once they had seen the HET arrive with Lee and Mick.

The HET was set up in the playground and a plan of action was rehearsed with Sarah, Joe, Lee, and Mick.

The children were then rotated throughout the day and the following elements were covered:

Ø Introduction to the team.

Ø Introduction to the HET, highlighting areas of danger and Blind Spots. Asking them where they think Blind Spots are.

Ø Demonstration of Blind Spots, placing the children in different areas of the HET.

Ø Getting the children up in the HET and have children on the ground to demonstrate Be Safe be Seen, whilst incorporating Blind Spots from a driver’s perspective.

Ø Lastly the children demonstrated their Road Safety knowledge crossing our zebra crossing.

An extremely rewarding day and enjoyable, however the whole team were absolutely shattered!

Top three questions from the children:

1. Were you in World War 1.

2. What does PSI stand for. (They read the notice on the HET driver’s door!)

3. Not from the children, but Lee Cowan asked them to ‘Dress to the right/rear’ This is now adopted by the school.

FTX Logistics Limited has nominated our HR Generalist, Sharon Petford for the KBR Q3 Zero Harm Award.
On route to her gym class on 26 September 2025, Sharon encountered a cyclist that seemed to be unsteady and not wearing a helmet. Sharon followed him at a safe distance in her car until she felt it was safe to pass him. However, before she could pass, the cyclist came off his bicycle and fell face down into the road. At this point Sharon was unsure whether he had fainted or clipped the curb, causing the accident.
Sharon then pulled over and went to the aid of the cyclist with a passer by, where they found he was unconscious, unresponsive and had blood coming from his nose and a head wound. They also found blood seeping from his ear. Sharon remained with the injured man, speaking to him to try and reassure him. She then arranged for the other party to phone the emergency services, passing information to them about the condition of the cyclist until a first responder arrived on the scene.
Sharon continued speaking to them about cyclist to reassure him until an ambulance arrived, before being released by the ambulance crew.
Steve Lawton, MD of FTX Logistics Ltd congratulating Sharon for her nomination, explained that her actions demonstrated that the Zero Harm ethos applies 24/7, and not just in the workplace.
Well done Sharon
