We are currently looking for a Customer Service Assistant to work in our busy office in Gills Bay. (16.75 hours p/w) + Check In and Weekend Cover

The main duties include making bookings for customers over the phone and in person, preparing information for sailings and general office duties, as well as checking in passengers.

Applicants should be reliable, accurate with information and have good communication skills. Experience with computers is necessary.

Applicants must be available to work weekends plus holiday and sickness cover.

Are you a keen birdwatcher looking to plan a trip to Orkney?

This wildlife-loving YouTuber couple visited Orkney a few weeks ago, exploring some of the islands’ best birdwatching spots and capturing some brilliant photos along the way. On their Pentland Ferries crossing, they photographed fantastic Fulmars, Razorbills and Gannets, as well as seeing a Great Skua and dolphins off the back of the boat.

Kirkwall Harbour is a picturesque waterfront bustling with small fishing boats, yachts, pleasure craft and inter-island ferries connecting Orkney’s north isles with the mainland.

Pentland Ferries have a vacancy for an OOW (Unlimited)

This is a permanent position based on an even time rota of either 2 or 3 weeks on/off.

A competitive salary and a workplace pension are available. (Details can be provided to suitable candidates on request), and have the right to work in the UK.

Applicants must hold a valid ENG1 Medical Certificate and have all STCWs relevant to rank

It would be an advantage to hold the following certificates (but not essential as training will be provided to the right candidate)- Designated Security Duties, and all relevant Passenger ship certificates. It would also be beneficial if the candidate held an endorsed Chief Officer up to 3000gt certificate.

Experience on passenger vessels would also be an advantage as the role will require the use of passenger counting and check in experience, but training will be given to the successful applicant.
