After doing the little detour on Wednesday, I finally loaded trays from Coventry and ran my time out to get back as far as I could.
{Only 5 minutes left on my 15 hour working time}.

>> A night in Okehampton it was then.

Ran my load of trays back down to Bodmin, headed over to Victoria & collected a trailer of fresh & frozen 🥶 fish 🐟 for deliveries in Bristol, Evesham & Derby.
Once empty I ran down to Donnington Park Services for the night.
Upon waking up & getting ready to start the day, I spied our friends from the DVSA had set up camp 🎪
Ensuring that I spoke very loudly whilst doing my vehicle checks to ensure they could hear that I was conducting them correctly, I am now in Avonmouth waiting to be loaded with................
That's right more TRAYS!

My right foot 🦶🏻 is definitely going to be on the heavy side to get back as it's my last day on (short week for me this week).

Love getting a phone call on the way down to what you think is your one & only collection before making your way back to the Duchy.

Alrite drive, could you take a detour to Hopwood Park Services,
>> Meet a driver coming from Wales,
>> Swap trailers with him,
>> Deliver that load to Atherstone,
>> Then head back to collect your load of trays from Coventry.
>> Once done you can head back down.

RTC's on most of the motorway 🛣️ causing delays. The joys of the transport industry.

When you get to your customer just after your booking time & they say
"Park 🅿️ up driver & bring your paperwork 📜 to the office."
Walk past 2 empty bays and ask if you can put your trailer on one of them to be told "sorry, we're busy!"

Well on the plus side, at least it's not like it's another roasting hot 🥵 day, ok wait......

Bleddy hell.

Nearly 7 o'clock in evening and it's still flipping 33°c.

I'm sweating like a turnip 🫜 in a pasty oven. To make things worse, my air-con already needs a re-gasing so the night cooler isn't gonna be working tonight.

Gonna be like a pig 🐷 in blanket.

Normally I deliver to Regional Distribution Centres or Industrial Estates & warehouse units in knackered , small yards but not today.

Delivering some polystyrene boxes to a shellfish 🦐 company in Appledore right on the dockside.

An interesting blind side reverse into a shed with no lighting in a very small yard.

Loading up with polystyrene boxes for a shellfish 🦐 production facility in North Devon.

The downside is, it is not a palletised load, it's loose packaging wrapped in bags.
🔁🔀 It must be like a game of Tetris in the back for the guys loading me 😂😂

Afternoon from Rochdale,

Yesterday was a ansum steady drive up to my overnight spot.
With a couple of us running up to similar destinations, it was nice to run most of the way in a small convoy.
With there being no real rush to get parked up, we took the opportunity to stop at 3 or 4 services on the way up just to break up the run.

Took the chance to get a photo of 3 of us when we pulled into Taunton Deane Northbound for a 15 mins leg stretch.

10-4 rubber 🦆 we got ourselves a CoNvOy!
