Unfortunately, due to temporary traffic lights which have been put in place to support essential emergency repairs on the gas network on Isla Road near Quarrymill and at the Main Street/Strathmore Street junction, there is an unavoidable knock on impact to traffic in this area. We have been in regular contact with SGN to seek updates and know that they are working hard to complete the work safely and to reinstate the road so that it can fully re-open, but this will not be completed before the Perth Festival begins at Perth Racecourse (24-26 April).

While our traffic and network team will do what they can to manually control/amend the permanent traffic signals on this route to manage the traffic as best as we can, it will not be possible to fully mitigate the volume of traffic and road users should expect significant delays.

Things you can do:
β€’ If you’re travelling to the races consider using the Raceday Shuttle Bus which runs from Perth Concert Hall out to the Racecourse. Please be aware that all bus tickets must be purchased in advance online via the Perth Racecourse website www.perth-races.co.uk/
β€’ Avoid the area if you don’t need to travel on that road, particularly during peak travel times, anything that can be done to reduce the number of vehicles in the area will help.
β€’ Car share or use public transport if you do need to travel to reduce the number of vehicles on the road.

Roadworks - Perth Bridge, 23 and 24 March

Please be aware emergency repairs are being carried out on Perth Bridge this weekend, 23 and 24 March.

Some delays in travel may be caused as the works are carried out. Please follow site signage and barriers for your safety.

Queen's Bridge traffic restrictions have been removed and should help relieve traffic pressure.

We appreciate your patience as we carry out these works as swiftly as possible and aim to keep disruption to a minimum.

Due to our ever increasing workload, we currently have vacancies for Dispatch operators, there are various flexible shifts available, experience in a call centre environment would be preferred, but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidates

We also have various vacancies for drivers to assist with providing our continually growing client base with excellent service

Again experience would be preferred, ideally the candidates will be over 25 years of age with a clean driving licence, an existing PKC taxi licence would also be preferred, but assistance with this can be provided to the correct individuals πŸš•

Please get in touch if you or anyone you know may be interested 😊
