J.38 Services was built with long distance professional drivers in mind.

Located just off the M6 at Junction 38, J.38 Services was created specifically for truckers and coach drivers travelling either on the M6 or to and from the North East on the A685. Just like its sister site, Tebay Services just one mile further north, J.38 Services has established a good reputation for friendly staff and good, homemade food. However instead of farmshops, J.38 Services has been built with long distance professional drivers in mind.

We’re in a JAM and you will be too. We need your help! Communities surrounding us here at Tebay are facing up to 4 years of complete disruption. In 2027, work begins to replace 7 deteriorating M6 motorway bridges, resulting in the closure of Junction 38 in one direction for four years.

Lack of connectivity can erode communities irreparably over such a long time. Schools, businesses, and livelihoods are under threat , motorists will be at risk of accidents and emergency services will be unable to respond to calls.

No one is disputing these bridges need replacing, but we are appealing for a traffic management scheme that respects and values local people.

There is a solution to this chaos. Help us appeal to National Highways to consider local communities and keep Junction 38 fully open.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks are visiting us at Junction 38 Truckstop on Friday 17th October as part of their UK Truck Stop Tour. 🚛🚚

They’ll be on site from 12-8pm with the new ProCabin truck - a good chance to take a look around and see what’s new on the road!

While you’re here, warm up in our Cafe with a proper Winter meal. From Lasagne to Cottage Pie, there’s plenty on the menu to keep you fuelled.

🚛 Travel Update: M6 Northbound J38

National Highways are carrying out repairs on the M6 Northbound at Junction 38, with overnight works taking place Monday 23rd to Thursday 26th June, between 8pm and 6am.

Please note: The northbound exit slip road at J38 will be closed overnight on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th June, for safety.

If you're stopping by or travelling in the area, please plan your journey accordingly.

This Thursday (30th January) the M6 southbound between Junction 39 and Junction 37 will be closed from 8pm to 5am, for essential emergency repairs.

With southbound access closed, Junction 38 Truckstop will only be accessible from the M6 northbound carriageway and Tebay village during these hours.
