It’s common knowledge within the taxi trade that Wolverhampton-plated vehicles and driver licences are much easier to obtain due to less rigorous checks, lower standards, and older vehicles being allowed.

This creates a loophole where drivers who might not meet Cheshire’s stricter standards are operating in our towns – and passenger safety could be at risk.

Local licensing rules exist for a reason: to keep the public safe, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, and drivers are properly vetted.
