This was actually quite a scary situation for the driver and passenger involved.

Taxi drivers are just trying to get people home safely, but situations can turn unpredictable very quickly on busy nights.

Abuse, aggression and intimidating behaviour towards drivers is never acceptable. Thankfully everyone was okay in the end 🚕

Saturday night was a reminder of how quickly situations can turn for taxi drivers.
Some individuals were aggressively banging on taxis at the rank, being abusive to drivers, and then continued down the road stopping vehicles in traffic. Incidents like this highlight the reality that taxi drivers regularly deal with unpredictable and volatile behaviour while simply trying to do their job and get people home safely.
Most passengers are brilliant and we appreciate every single customer that supports us, but nobody should have to face intimidation, abuse or aggression at work.
Please remember:
Taxi drivers are people trying to earn a living
Distracting or intimidating a driver can put passengers, pedestrians and other road users at risk
Respect goes both ways
Huge respect to all the drivers out there working late nights, weekends and busy events keeping Cornwall moving safely.
