There’s some really exciting times ahead! Hoping to be offering more than just standard repairs. Potentially a complete collection/repair/return service, no need to even leave the house! And also some other ideas in the pipelines. We’re open to any suggestions from people on what services you would like to be provided. As much feedback as possible would be very much appreciated!

Follow up to previous post, head gasket all sorted with nice new oil and filter. Nice new gasket with head bolts, freshly skimmed head with valves and seats replaced. While we had the car I was asked to see why it sounded like a boy racer car, turned out flexi was split and completely snapped on removal. The fun part was getting a replacement, nowhere not even Vauxhall could get the section of exhaust with the right fixing for a minimum of 4 weeks and with a cost of £500+vat! Some outside the box thinking and a new fitting made out of some 10mm thick flat steel, welded onto the replacement pipe and all sorted. Car all done and up and running with hopefully a very satisfied new customer. It was a pleasure to get it up and running for her after all the trouble she’d been through with a previous garage so now she can’t get her work life back on track without spending more than her wages in taxis etc to get round her clients.

Now I’m not normally 1 to criticise other mechanics, but this customer (community carer) was losing water and was told her thermostat was faulty, had that changed, went back as still losing water to be told water pump was leaking so had that changed, was still losing water so contacted the mechanic for him to tell her that this is normal but it will sort itself out (no it won’t) and then told she needed a new radiator after the car broke down with steam coming from bonnet and exhaust. I went to look at it and within 10 mins had diagnosed that head gasket was at fault. Car brought to me this morning, now just waiting for the head to be skimmed for the new gasket etc to be fitted. Sump looks like it’s holding more water than oil 🤦🏼‍♂️ going to be extremely satisfying to hear that all the water loss is solved once this work is complete so she can get round her calls looking after the elderly and disabled again

Water pump replacement on a slightly unusual car today. Suzuki wagon r. Customer had the head gasket replaced previously after spending 2 months trying to find someone interested in doing the job, unfortunately they only found me after the work had been carried out. The slight water leak turned out to be the paper gasket had failed but replaced with a complete new pump and gasket and all is now good, no leaks at all, nice and warm heaters which should be nice over the coming months. Nothing Better than a satisfied customer who doesn’t have to stress about the work being done to a high standard and having the peace of mind that the part should be good for thousands of miles to come
