Liverpool black cabs, a safer option in our opinion.
When people are heading home, especially late at night, getting into a taxi or private hire with someone you trust matters.
All licensed taxis and private hire vehicles have to follow rules, but we personally feel black cabs give that extra bit of reassurance.
There have been wider discussions across the country around taxi licensing, out of area licensing and public confidence in the system.
FOI requests and published licensing information have raised questions around taxi licensing, including cases where drivers with previous convictions have been granted licences. There has also been wider debate nationally around safeguarding and how different licensing systems operate across the country.
This does not mean every driver is the same. The majority of drivers are decent people doing a job and helping people get home.
But when it comes to safety, knowing who you’re getting into a car with matters.
Black cabs are easy to recognise, have been part of Liverpool for generations, can be picked up from ranks or hailed on the street, and many have CCTV fitted which is encouraged by Liverpool City Council.
For anyone vulnerable, especially young people heading home after a night out, choosing a black cab is something we believe gives extra peace of mind.
Plan your journey and get home safely.
