About Us

OPP Recruitment provide delivery services for various clients one of which is the UK’s leading white goods company. You will become part of a large team who will deliver anything from small appliances such as an ‘Echo Dot’ to a large ‘American Fridge Freezer’. All of our crews are two man teams so team work is key! You must be able to work well under pressure and have good customer service skills. As part of the job role you will be given full training and tools to provide an excellent customer experience. About The Role

Our Transhippers report directly into the Nightshift Supervisors and need to be able to work well in a busy team with other Transhippers and out base operational employee’s including our De-Briefers. The role will be between 30-40 hours per week roughly with the potential to get overtime hours too. This will be a 12 week temporary period with the chance to gain a permanent position.

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

You will play a key role in the customer journey and will make sure that the customer is at the heart of everything we do by ensuring that the right appliance goes to the right customer, on time and in excellent condition. You will do this by;
* Working to deadlines unloading products from the trailers and loading onto 3.5t and 7.5t delivery vehicles using the correct Transhipping process.
* Assigning the products to the correct delivery vehicles using pick sheets
* Checking that trailers going back to Head Office are loaded correctly
* Using the correct manual handling techniques and safe systems of work in line with H&S training
* Reporting any accidents, product issues or damages
* Other general warehouse responsibilities

A Few Things About You

It is important that our Transhippers work together and stay motivated throughout the nightshift. You need to be smart enough to work independently and be trusted with the tasks you are given whilst being bold enough to report any issues and be passionate about customer service. There is plenty of opportunity to progress for any of our Transhippers who demonstrate the right drive and determination you can develop your skills and progress to other positions within our business.

EXPERIENCE

* You must have excellent attention to detail and have shown this in your previous experience
* Experience of working under pressure or to deadlines
* An understanding of handling large products is desirable
* Experience in warehousing or logistics is desirable but not essential
* Able to complete heavy manual handling within strict H&S guidelines

SKILLS

* Must be an excellent team player and able to work well with people at all levels
* Enthusiastic with a "can do" attitude
* Able to remain calm and focussed under pressure
* Reliable and self-motivated

The Job role is full time working 5 out of 7 days a week with an hourly rate of £9 p/h. You will be working 40hrs a week on a 12 week temporary contract, after 12 weeks this will be moved to a permanent contract which can lead to a higher pay rate.

What the job role is:

- Maintenance of the yard

- Transhipping of scrap items

- Helping the on site team with day to day duties when required

What we are looking for:

- Someone with a keen eye to detail

- Someone who is motivated ad confident to work with the whole yard team including management

- A driving licence is very beneficial to help with shunter moving vehicles but not essential

Shift Pattern:

This Job role will be a 4 on 4 off rotation working 12pm-9pm with potential overtime rates available.

Pay:

£10 per hour paid last working day of the month
Overtime rates- £15 per hour

Your roles and responsibilities:

• Training, managing and assessing self-employed crews to the high standards expected from the company.
• Manage staff availability
• Liaise and assist with any duties deemed responsible with the regional operations manager
• Completing crew audits
• Onboarding/recruiting new self-employed crews
• Assist with administration
• Attend weekly audit meetings with the senior leadership team
• Be able to work on an on-call rota which covers 24hrs a day/7 days a week with the management team
• To be able to work well under pressure
• To be able to adapt to multiple demands
