Mission accomplished! 🚐🐾

The plans changed, but the goal stayed the exact same: get these two beautiful cats to their new pet mum!

I was originally supposed to move them tomorrow (Sunday), but with the weather forecast hitting a scorching 29°C, I knew we had to act fast. By law, you cannot transport animals when it is over 30°C outside in a non-climate-controlled van. Since my van has ventilation only, waiting until Sunday would have been illegal and dangerous for the cats. Animal welfare always comes first! 🔥

I reached out to the adopter to suggest shifting the trip forward to today. She immediately checked with the team at Mad Animal House Cat and Small Animal Rescue in Nether Kellet, and everyone jumped into action to make it happen. Teamwork makes the dream work! 🙌

The best news? They have safely arrived in Northampton and are settling into absolute paradise. They’ve got a massive new catio, a giant running wheel to play on, and four new feline roommates to bond with. Life is good! 😻✨

The Reality of Pet Transport!

On the left: The face of an absolute angel. A stunning Frenchie x English Bulldog cross traveling with us up to Scotland for Paws of Hope Bulldog Rescue. 😇🐾

On the right: What happens when that angel isn't quite crate-trained and decides to remodel the van! He completely shredded his cage lining and bedding pad during the journey. 🛋️💥

But you can't be mad at a face like that! This is exactly why we do what we do. Anxious travelers need patience, reassurance, and a calm, quiet environment. Because he was our only VIP passenger on board, we could give him all the time and extra TLC he needed to settle down and arrive safely. 👑❤️

The bedding didn't survive, but he made it to his destination happy, healthy, and safe. Mission accomplished! 🎯👇🏼

Yesterday, MuttMeisters headed up into Scotland on another mission for Paws of Hope Bulldog Rescue! Check out the video passing the Gretna sign. 🎥👇🏼

On board was an absolute gentleman - a Frenchie/English Bulldog cross. He had the sweetest temperament, but because he wasn't crate-trained, his anxiety kicked in and he tore his cage lining to pieces! 🫣

Worried about over-vaccinating your dog? 🐾

When our German Shepherds were young, they only received puppy boosters and lived to a ripe old age of 16.

Now, we care for 3 street dogs from Egypt. At 12 years old, two are managing stage-2 kidney disease. Thanks to a strict kidney diet, their levels are back to normal!

Because of their age and health, we really want to avoid straining their kidneys with unnecessary booster jabs. That is why we are looking into Titre Testing.

A Titre Test is a simple blood test that measures your dog's actual antibody levels. The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) even calls it the gold standard of care!

It is especially vital for elderly dogs whose immunity changes with age. Most dogs hold lasting protection and do not need annual boosters. (Note: This applies to DHP, not Leptospirosis or Kennel Cough).

Important Update for MuttMeisters Transport & Trips! 🐾🚐

As many of you know, my Pet Transport, Doggy Days Out and Dog Park Trips are a 'one-to-one' service. When you book a date, I hold the entire van and my time exclusively for your pets - often weeks or months in advance!

To keep my DEFRA-licensed van on the road and continue providing the highest level of care, I am updating my booking terms for Transport, Doggy Days Out, and Dog Park Trips starting today.

✅ What’s changing? To secure a date, I now require a 25% non-refundable Booking Fee. The remaining balance is then due 7 days before the trip.

✅ Why? This ensures I can manage my schedule and continue helping the many rescues and families that rely on me.

From Plymouth to Marlborough: Helping the "Gentle Giants" find their feet! 🐾

You may remember Kira, the Romanian rescue I transported a couple of weeks ago. She’s a beautiful girl, but as she settles into her foster home in Plymouth, it became clear she needed a bit more space to be the star of the show!

To help out, I spent my Sunday moving the magnificent Buddy - a Romanian Mioritic Shepherd - from Plymouth to a brand-new foster home in Marlborough.

Despite his size, Buddy is a true gentle giant. He was a fantastic passenger and took the whole journey in his stride. It’s always a privilege to see these dogs move one step closer to their forever sofas. 🛋️❤️
