Women in Transport | Women’s Safety on Public Transport 🚍
In August, our Social Media Manager, Abey, attended a Women in Transport event at Strathclyde Partnership For Transport (SPT) in , exploring the important topic of women’s safety on Scotland’s network, an issue that extends across the wider .
The event brought together people from across the transport sector, providing an opportunity to hear from those leading the change, alongside a range of different voices and perspectives from across the industry.
One key finding highlighted that 73% of respondents had changed how they travel because of safety concerns, demonstrating the real impact that perceptions of safety can have on people’s travel choices.
At Calibre, we are always looking for new ways to support our team and consider their safety when using public transport. Events like this are valuable in helping us understand where the industry is making progress, where challenges remain, and how we can continue working towards safer and more inclusive transport networks for everyone.
There is still work to be done, but continued collaboration, research and open conversation will play an important role in shaping the future of transport.
