This weekend we (Hector) had the pleasure of being invited to be part of the The Goodwood Revival track parade, celebrating 75 years of the T2 camper. It was an amazing 3 days and a weekend we will never forget 💕 As regular visitors to Revival this one was made a little more special and if you’ve never visited before then we strongly recommend you add it to your list of things to do 👌🏻

As they say after any (great😂) performance…“That’s a wrap” with our 2024 wedding season coming to an end yesterday. It was nice to end on a very local one for us and with weather that was perfect, considering it’s the end of October. Pick up of Bride, Dad & MOTB was less than 3 miles from home, with the church about a mile, before we then transported the newlyweds a few miles to the Langstone Quays Resort for their afternoon tea & evening reception. It was great to see Weddings by Carla Mortimer Photography at work on this one and she did a great job of organising everyone in the time available to make sure she got all those important shots 📸 Looking forward to seeing the veil shots from the hotel! Congratulations Charlotte & Joe (Loved the Blue vans BTW) and thank you for asking us to be part of your wonderful day 😘 🚌

Congratulations to Sophie and Ed who got married yesterday at the beautiful The Tournerbury Woods Estate on a gorgeous Autumn day 🍁☀️Driving into Woods in October is always a little concerning, especially with the recent weather we’ve had, but thankfully 3 nice days here on the south coast meant the ground was all good and they managed to have their special day using plan A = Outdoors. Special mention to Dougal for looking and behaving fabulous throughout 🐶 I loved his bow tie 😍 We hope you had a fantastic Day & thank you for booking Hector 😘

Every wedding day has its own story to tell, but sometimes something happens which you will remember for ever….Yesterday was one of those days 🙈😂 Funny now we can look back on it, but at the time even after all these years I was getting a little worried 😬 We (Hector) arrived to pick up the bride and father as planned and at 12.30pm, they and the 5 bridesmaids and MOTB came out (as planned) ready to leave. “We’re just waiting for the taxi to arrive”which was booked 2 weeks ago and confirmed again this morning. 12.45pm and still no taxi despite the bride being on the phone to this local company saying it’s her wedding day 😱 Their answer “We’re trying to find you a 6 seater” It was booked 2 weeks ago! You either have one or you don’t, in which case send two cars. What’s difficult about providing a car on time…🤷🏻‍♂️ it’s now 12.50pm (ceremony at 1.30pm) with a 25min journey to the venue…as luck would have it a VW transporter Kombi went by, so at this point I jumped into action and waved/shouted at them to stop and asked them if they could save the day! To which the lovely lady said yes sure as she had nothing else to do. A quick tidy up of said van and 5 bridesmaids and MOTB were on their way 👏🏻🥳 The rest of the day proceeded as planned and we still got the bride there on time to meet with the registrars. Claire if you do see this post you truly were a ‘hero’ and thank you for stopping when a random person (me) waves and shouts at you 😂 luckily you had your window down 🙏🏻 Not all heroes wear capes 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

After what seems like a life time ago (2 months) Hector was back out doing his thing yesterday 🥳 it was an early start for this one with two pick up’s arranged, firstly the bride and her bridesmaids, followed by the MOTB and the groom’s mum. Not forgetting a whole host of luggage 😂 including the very important wedding dress! The bride had arranged for everyone to stay within the area at some cottages Flintstone Cottages near Oving, Chichester, with the wedding at the beautiful Upwaltham Barns 😍 Two 20min journeys were no problem for Hector and all the bridal party were at the venue by 12.45pm to continue getting ready and have photos taken by the fabulous and so organised Kelly Hearn Photography 📸 👏🏻 We then hung about outside for photos after the 2pm ceremony, in the glorious sunshine! ☀️ No sign of the predicted rain and storms 🤷🏻‍♂️ Congratulations Amy & Matt and thank you for trusting us to be your wedding transport 🚌😘 I couldn’t get any (good) photos of the group shot as I was on dress (holding) fanning duty due to the wind. A very important job it would seem 😂

Yesterday we were privileged to be asked as 1 of 50 vehicles to display Hector at the GRRC members day at Goodwood House. It was a fab day with so many beautiful cars on display, and we even got treated to lunch! 😋 It’s not everyday you get to park next to a 2024 Daytona Ferrari SP3 😍 with only 599 being built at a cost of £2.2 million 😱

Congratulations to yesterdays couple Jen & Simon who we had the pleasure of driving to and from their ceremony at the Square Tower We even managed to avoid any rain in the area in what ended up being a beautiful sunny day. Thank you to Jen’s mum for booking us as a surprise way back in June 2023. It’s not everyday you get an ambulance dropping off one of the guests behind you 🚑👏🏻👏🏻

With only two more weddings booked this year 🤷🏻‍♂️ This now concludes our wedding season until September 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ and after 11 years of doing 20+ weddings a year we’re wondering if this is the year where transport is seen as a luxury and not a necessity, with so many venues now offering a place to get ready and couples looking to cut back where they can…or is this a knock on effect of Covid..as we’re now 3-4 years down the line where couples didn’t have a chance to meet? Will 2025 see it bounce back…? OR Is it just simply that the iconic campervan has had its moment (for now) and as with most things they go in cycles…if so then 11 years is a pretty good run 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 we know it’s not just us and it’s a tricky year for lots of wedding suppliers. Luckily for us these boys have worked hard over the years and have now earnt their keep so are going nowhere 💪🏻

For now though unless things change Hector & Ozzy can enjoy their break and we can go back to enjoying them more and use them for what we originally intended and that’s for us to go and have fun & adventures in them 👍🏻🤙🏻
