Based in the county town of Haddington. Winners of Top Independent Operator at the 2016 UK Bus Awards We started with one coach when, after working for Ian Glass for many years, my father found himself working for Lowland Scottish as Ian had sold his business to them. Used to working for a family business he quickly decided that this was not for him and Don Prentice Coaches was born.We carried our

first passengers on the 1st June 1991. Over the years we have earned a reputation for providing our customers with the very latest coaches always presented in immaculate condition with friendly, knowledgeable and skilled drivers. This has led to us being recognised as one of the leading coach operators in the country. Twenty years later we now run 17 coaches ranging in size from 24 seats up to our largest coaches which can carry 70 passengers. In November 2012 we won 'Medium Coach Operator of the Year' (11 to 30 vehicles) catagory in the RouteONE Operator Excellence Awards. This was the second year in a row we had been on the finalists shortlist having made it to the final 7 operators in the same catagory in 2011. http://www.route-one-excellenceawards.co.uk/awards.htm

**UPDATED INFORMATION**
Service 111 Diversion Route from 7th April 2026

Due to the closure of Old Craighall Road from 7th April 2026 Service 111 will follow a diversion which is for most journeys will be via the A720 & Millerhill Road. We have been able to update the diversion and timetable as the Housing Developer has provided funding to allow us the provide additional resourses to operate the route and keep disruption to a minimum.

This will result in the Service being unable to serve Old Craighall, passengers can board at the Craighall Drive stops.

The route will also be unable to serve Millerhill, temporary bus stops will be in place to the north of MIllerhill roundabout or Lothian Buses 33 provides an alternative service.

At peak times Service 111 will be unable to serve Newton Village and Danderhall as due to severe delays at Sherriffhall Roundabout the diversion will be via the A1, Fort Kinnaird and The Wisp. Please see the timetable below for details.

We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience this will cause our customers. We were only informed of the closure at 17:00 on 11th March, little more than 3 weeks notice and final details only confirmed on 26th March.
