Everyone here at Tony Carter Transport Limited are deeply saddened to hear the passing of Ken Wilson who worked at fellow transport company DA Cummings,we have worked with Ken for 35 years and was known by our manager Tony as “uncle Ken “ we are deeply saddened to hear this news.

**Job Opportunity**

We're looking for a driver to join our team, must hold a Cat C (Class2) licence at minimum and must have a valid DCPC and digital tachograph card. If you can only drive a van, please don't apply as we don't employ van drivers.

Experience of both curtainside and flatbed vehicles is preferred, but, in house training and guidance will be supplied. Newly qualified drivers will be considered for the vacancy.

The role will include nights out and occasional weekend work. Duties and start times will vary, this isn't a 9-5 job. There will be times that you have to start at 4am or earlier, there will also be times that you start mid afternoon and don't finish your day until very late into the night.

Remuneration to be discussed at interview stage. 28 days holiday per year including Bank Holidays.

Being a local company, we always try and help out whenever we can.

On Thursday we received a phone call from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service asking what the cost would be to supply a vehicle and driver to transport a load of much needed equipment down to Kent as part of it's onward journey.

Unfortunately, due to tachograph regulations and our drivers needing to have their weekly rest period, we weren't able to supply a driver.

The only thing we were able to do was offer to supply them with a vehicle use free of charge. All they would need to do is provide a pilot. Pilot Tom collected the vehicle later in the day...

As you can see in a photo, these chaps know how to load a truck. I wonder if they fancy working in general haulage?

Mostly ran Mercedes but looks like Man Trucks are now becoming our main truck supplier.
