🌟🚛 FANCY JOINING US 🚛🌟

We are on the lookout for a HGV C+E Driver to join our growing Haulage operation.

Working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern you will be serving the full range of our customers, from carting fresh fish off a boat at the weekend to carting Timber Frame Houses throughout the week. Our work is massively varied and no two days are the same. The Haulage industry is a far more reactive industry than the PCV one and as such we need drivers who are flexible and willing to turn their hand to anything.

We have always laid out our customer base in the past and a quick scan back through our posts will tell you what we do but flexibility and adaptability is the main thing we are looking for in a driver. We don't need someone who sits in the cab and lets someone else load the truck, we don't need someone who cuts corners, we don't need someone who expects someone else to strap their load for them nor do we need someone who is afraid to use a pump truck (yes a manual one like what they used in the olden days)

Your 4 on 4 off shift pattern mate takes alot of pride in his 26 plate Volvo truck and as such you will be expected to aswell. You are living in it at the end of the day so treat it with respect, share it well and make the most of it between you (trust me if you turn out to be a scruff that smokes and leaves the remnants of your tea all over the cab then it will be a short lived employment)

I'd expect you to be away for 3 nights, stopping out is the most profitable way to run the trucks especially in the current climate so get your bag packed with 3 pairs of boxes, some clean T Shirts (which we do provide) and enough sustanance to survive for 4 days on the road without relying on motorway service station tucker (you've got a fridge and a microwave to work with and the truck will soon have an inverter for you to stick your air fryer on with at night).

We pay you an above average wage for the area but i'm not telling you what it is for fear of the 80 grand a year armchair truckers getting giddy with their keyboards and telling us all how they "wouldn't get out of bed for that" (aye alright, you keep chasing the dream in your flat cab Daf pulling parcels for Amazon). Our drivers get night out allowance and meal allowance and you get to be a part of some of the worst workplace craic there is, trust me you need a sense of humour to do this job some days!!!

FANCY A NEW JOB????

So we are looking for another member of staff to join our team on our Haulage side of the business.

As always i'll try and spell out the ins and outs of the job so you can decide if it's for you before applying!!!

We do a variety of different work, mainly all direct work for customers so you will be meeting and dealing directly with the men and women who pay our wages so a certain level of professionalism is a must.

The work is as follows:-

Timber Frame House Compnents - This is our largest contract which required several vehicles per day transporting timber throughout the legnth and bredth of the country. Some of it is abnormal loads given the width of some pieces. Others are multi drops on building sites througout the country. In summer it's not a bad job but in winter you will get s**t up, cold, wet and probably end up stuck on a questionably built track going on to a building site. The weather plays a massive part on the job and cancellations are inevitable so you need to be flexible and be able to adapt and not loose your mind if a job cancels/changes.

Refrigerated Fish - This is another big one and similar to the timber in that the weather plays a massibe part. Boats land at the most random times of the day, early mornings, late nights, weekends...anytime really and we need folk who don't mind this. You are expected to pull pallets of shellfish up and down the trailer and assist the lads with loading and unloading. It smells, it's dirty, it's cold but that's just the job. The collections are from directly from fishing ports throughout the country all coming back to Fleetwood.

Potato Transport - This is a smaller job but a nice fill in job, collecting spuds from here, there and everywhere. You'll need to be able to sheet a load as we use the flats we have for the Timber on this job usually. There is sometimes bulkers to shift and curtainsiders aswell.

Bulk Tippers/Walking Floors - We do have abit of bulk work and walking floor traction only work that we cover aswell so be ready for that. Mainly trailers from Fleetwood to plants throughout the country and back with empties. Nice steady job 👍

Basically all of that surmounts to us needing someone who likes variety in their working day. No two days are the same in our job and we need someone who is not only flexible and able to adapt to change without loosing their mind, but also someone who doesn't need their hand holding. Our jobs change, thats just a fact and you might be ready for finishing for the day only to be told we need you to set off with a fridge because a fishing boat has had to come in with a breakdown. If you are someone who needs to know on a Monday what they are doing all week, this isn't the job for you as honestly....most of the time even we don't know. That said it's still better than sitting on a loading bay in an RDC being treated like a second class citizen whilst handing your keys, driving license and deeds to your house to an RDC Operative whos only task in life is to ruin a truck drivers day.

You need to have overnight gear in your truck all the time and be ready to have a night out. If you want 4 nights out a week then most of the time you can take your next trailer and get infront but sometimes there won't be anything doing and you'll get to spend the evening in your own bed. Between December and January there will be quiet days and you'll be in the yard doing jobs.

We guarentee you 37 hours a week whatever happens and we pay £16 quid an hour for days and £20 an hour for nights and weekends and you get overnight and meal allowances for when you stop out.

You'll probably have read this and thought "Why the hell would anyone want to work there" and if you have then i wish you all the best, however if you've read it and thought "that sounds like the sort of chaos i can get onboard with" then lets have a chat 🤳📞

• PLANNING DELIVIERIES AND UTILISING OUR FLEET AND TEAM TO THEIR BEST
• INVOICING WORK FROM THE PREVIOUS WEEK
• LIASING WITH THE CUSTOMERS TEAM WITH REGARDS TO TRANSPORT CHANGES AND ISSUES THAT ARISE
• BEING ON SITE AT ALL TIMES TO OVERSEE THE OPERATION AND ENSURE THE SMOOTH RUNNING OF THE CONTRACT

A GOOD KNOWLEDGE ON HOW TO USE A PC IS A MUST, YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO WORK EXCEL AND OTHER COMPUTER BASED SYSTEMS. NOT BEING AFRAID OF GETTING YOUR HANDS DIRTY IS ALSO A MUST. TRAILERS NEED STRAPPING AND LOADING IN ALL WEATHERS SO DON'T BE AFRAID OF GETTING WET (WATERPROOFS WILL BE PROVIDED)

🚛🚛🚛 WE NEED A DRIVER FOR THIS TRUCK 🚛🚛🚛

Based out of our Longridge Operating Centre, we are looking for a reliable and motivated Class 2 (C) HGV Driver to undertake deliveries to building sites throughout the country (mainly North West and Midlands)

The work is Timber Framed House Kits and Floors (some wide) to various destinations, the work can be dirty at times (we all know what building sites are like in winter) and access can be tight but a good driver with a brain between their ears will have no bother.

You need to be able to do 2 trips a day, sometimes three and not complain about setting off early in a morning to be on site for the sites opening and getting your deliveries off. You will be loaded the night before and strapped up then you can head off without getting wet in the morning!!! You need to be competant with strapping up loads safely and securely and not be afraid to take a wide load out of the yard (with marker boards and movement orders obviously or else the kind gentleman from the CVU will be pulling you in and explaining the error of your ways)

This truck works 5 days a week and we need someone to look after her....it's a clean and tidy truck that is maintained in our workshops in Fleetwood so every 6 weeks you will be required to bring it to us aswell as any running repairs that need attention. You are responsible for washing it and ideally i'd like someone who appreciated shiny alloy wheels (not easily kept clean in the conditions it works in but god loves a trier)

Salary is discussed privately for the avoidance of the social media millionaires who and i quote "wouldn't get out of bed for that" . We pay you a salary so if work is steady then you don't loose out, but in the same respect if we are flat out busy then we win.....swings amd roundabouts really!!!

You get a uniform, a pension, 32 days holidays and the odd early finish on a Friday if work permits. Weekends are overtime on the C+E vehicles if you want it.

Apart from that, give us a shout, send us a CV and we'll go from there.

Ideally looking for someone to start as soon as possible as the current driver has been promoted 👍
