I had a gap year where I worked as a play worker at Badsey out of school club with children aged 3-12 as well as a childminder in the creche at Evesham leisure centre and also at the Vale of Evesham school as a teaching assistant. I continued wth these roles whilst studying and completing my psychology degree at University of Worcester. Following this I started work at a Childnren’s centre as a family support worker working with children with families age 5 and under. I continued and progressed in this role to higher level family support worker until the service changed to become a service for 0-19 year olds where i then worked with children and young people age 0-19. In September 2016 this was reviewed for a further service change and I took this opportunity to take voluntary redundancy. Whilst in this role I undertook a wide variety of training courses such as Speech and language training, safeguarding up to group 4, 2 different parenting programmes, baby massage and much more. I was also very fortunate to be given the opportunity to complete my Early years professional status whilst in this role. Alongside these years I also did some private childminding until I became and OFSTED registered childminder in 2011which I continue to do now two days per week. These experiences have led me into my new adventure and the start of Lizzie’s Buys Bus.
