We have a range of voluntary and paid staff who can deal with a range of enquiries relating to welfare benefits, debt and financial issues, employment, general legal advice and much more. The aims of the CAB service are:
To ensure that individuals do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express
their need effectively. To exercose a responsible influence on the development of social policies and services, both locally and nationally. The four guiding principles of the CAB Service are:
Free
We offer a free service to our clients whatever their financial position. Confidential
Nothing about the clients or their enquiries is revealed outside the bureau. Impartial
The service is available to everyone regardless of their race, class, gender, sexuality or creed. Independent
Although local bureaux receive funding from local councils, this does not in any way influence the advice given to clients nor prevent the bureaux from representing their clients in complaints against local authorities.
